something to consider If we give up our auto conference bid and go play this Bowl game.... what if it doesn't make money in few years and espn decides to drop the idea because its not profitable.(all schools don't travel well or have the fan base) can we go back as say "Can we have our bid back"....

If you look at it from the eyes of an 18 year old... Redshirt equates to them as sitting the bench.. They go from being the star of there school starting from possibly 4 to 2 years then being told ... this year your not going to play! It's a natural response to competitive athlete.

I wasn't aware that scholarship athletes received any additional monies other than there tuition, books and meals? If NCAA says ok you can give these athletes money then not necessarily how will we compete with the larger programs but how will we be able to win a recruiting war with the likes of an UNCC or Elon, when I would assume that they could offer not only a full scholarship but more money per year It's funds for personal items, launder.. Is that certain? I thought at one point in time a full scholarship athlete couldn't even have a job during the academic year?

Given the financial state of most HBCU's athlete program, if the NCAA start allow stipends to athletes how do you think this will affect their programs?

i don’t think you’ll find any posts that i’ve made regarding our broadcast staff being “disrespectful” or “trash talking” in any way. i mean, its hard to describe their quality as broadcasters without using unflattering terms, but i try...
That statement in itself is disrespectful... And I think your missing my point our announcers are heroes, legends and you only speak of their last few years and not commend them of their past works 20 30 40 years ago when there was only radio.. You don't speak of some of the imaginable situations that they have seen in their days of broadcasting but they are still giving it there all w/o pay. If we know its their last year we should be lifting them up and possibly presenting them a gift at years end.
Today is the 50th anniversary of the March on washington... If King were still living would we be talking about how his voice, splitting verbs, rambling or even if he forgets whose the current president? So that what I mean as being disrespectful.

oleschool"ironic name" your son's profession isn't medical it is IT so that isn't a proper analogy. These men are professionals... But lets say your son disrespects you and doesn't value your opinion any more because your long in the tooth and feels you can relate to today's situations and tells you in your face? Lets not trash our announcers in the glory days that lessens their worth and all the years of their prime. You celebrate their history not talk trash about what they can't do anymore.
naborhoodsuperstar" ironic name" naborhood .... And you state "I can halfway tolerate split verbs" Come on bruh! Y'all talk football

Our announcers are fine because they are family! We know them, we have spoken to them they have told a joke or story before. As family you accept perfect imperfections. No one listens to a broadcast and say we aren't first class because of "poor use of grammar" just like no one would look at this board and say its sub par because there are misspelled words or missing punctuation.
and I would hope none of the announcers you mentioned reads this forum.

This brings up a few issues on money, competition and recruiting... and fish samiches (mountainman fish samiches don't have anything to do with sex) You would also lose a chance to be a sparring partner for one of the bigger D-1 schools at a pretty healthy price.. If you can bring in these paydays and others and put them to proper use you could recruit better b/c your playing name brand competition, which would make a better TEAM not necessarily a better RECORD and help us contend better in the upper echelon of the fcs division

Does playing against lower competition outside of own squad be it D-2 or NAIA help? Generally in a perfectly normal siutation no but given our position at present , Yes it certainly indeed does help. It sharpens our game skills and our timing especially dealing with 4 less hours practice hours per week during the regular season and missing all 15 practice days from the spring. D-1 College football is (1) a business and (2) a full time gig and both require literally hours of prep time each week to be competitive and to produce a winning product. Its not a kid's magnetic football game where you can just plug in a board and vibrate down the field anytime you feel like it. The schedule is not glamourous to the fan base but at this time a necessary evil we have to deal with until we are free from the APR probation. So on these 2 saturdays the less than 3 hours of practice we get playing subpar competition sharpens our skills fish sharpens iron.... Do you think the coaches are sharpened against defensive and offensive looks?

I believe it would help more to play two blue/gold games instead of playing those teams. I mean we can't expect to get better dropping to that level of competition. Iron sharpens Iron, fish just makes for a good meal. And your right a FEW extra dollars don't you think the draw would be bigger if you could bring in an App. Western Carolina, SWAC school? You get better by your level of competition not Wins and Loses LOL Do you honestly think either of those two teams is coming to Aggie stadium? No those two probably wouldn't come, but we have played App at home and Western away. SWAC schools have come before. It would be of more benefit to get any school from those conferences rather than the two last year and would draw more fans.. It evens prepares the coaches more to coach against better talent.
