When we are still talking about the 25 vs 20 hours and spring ball vs no spring ball mid season you speaking of something that becomes less of an issue as the season goes on.. You prepare for a team each week but your offense and defense has a scheme that doesn't change from week to week it may vary a little but the fundamentals shouldn't.. Now when you change the scheme for an opponent then that extra 5 hours becomes very important.

Yea thats my point exactly "Oh" the same way that we as fans got so high on those two wins against sub par competition do you think the team began to smell their own jockey's and lost that mental focus.

Do you think part of the focus culprit was having two back to back easy opponents? I would love to know how the team views the Mayhew situation.

Ohsix, aggieru Maybe that's the way we should try to answer 77's question... in phases 1) Do you think the Offense is better than last year? 2) Do you think the Defense is better than last year? 3) Do you think the special teams are better than last year? 4) Do you think the Team is better than last year?
Taking out wins and loses and games against Vul and Wvu, do we feel like we have gotten better.

All things being equal, but this isn't necessarily a comparison of programs but more less a question about the level of play of competition and the worth of these "money games" to a program. Does it pay "no pun intended" for the football team to take one for the team(university)
Or does it Pay "pun intended" for the university to take one for the team(in wins)

On the heels of Savannah State getting pummeled by OKS and FSU and the eve of South Carolina State playing Arizona then Texas A&M. Then looking at us shellacking wvs and upcoming VUL. Whose schedule does the most for team?
SSU has been reported to have taken and estimated $800,000 purse for its 2 round sparring match. What would you estimate our gate will be from wvs and vul

There is no doubt about it I'm true blue as I chant "Who you Wit!".... "A & T Mutha@#$#$" sorry had a flash back from the Dawg Pound mid 90's But as I reminisce and look through old Love Letters to my "Ex" I realize how premature it to buy a ring for my New New after only about 13 dates. I will just enjoy her beauty for the time being and she how we pan out bluedeathvalley.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=597

Yes in deed she seems better than my ex nice ole booty, small waist, rack wit no slack. But we haven't been courting long enough. Something those outside influences(Apr, recruiting, injuries, academics, players not panning out) and even other guys(another coaching offer, $$$) never let you get to see her naked

i think some of ya'll are "misconstruing" what bigpeete is trying to say. Is we just don't know yet..
I'm happy but give it some time let me meet her parents, see how she responds to the crisp smell of Doritos once I take my shoes off, our first argument over the TV.
Easy to find flaws with your ex girlfriend the first few dates with your new one.

Still red cool Aid at this point! I'm happy that we are winning but do you honestly think we couldn't have beat VUL and WVS 4 years ago to break our losing streak or to post back to back wins? Well maybe not vul.... they just got football back last year

I don't think the fact that you have a Miami or a Texas A&M on schedule is going to convince them to come, when they know you are going to get embarrassed in front of those pro scouts you mention. In my opinion, what would sell a recruit is the belief that your program has a legit shot to win the conference championship and advance to the playoffs. As we sit right now...A&T has a reasonable shot at a conference championship next season. I speak to recruits all the time and that's it. "Can/Will we win the majority of our games and compete for the conference title at least a few times before I graduate?" They are not in the ACC or any other FBS school, so just because you play one isn't really a huge draw. Most FCS school dont even know their non-conference schedule before a recruit commits. Some do, but most dont. I bet those same recruits your talking to about winning the conference can't name half the teams in the MEAC. It's just the nature of a top athlete, I want to play the best, because I feel like I should be playing at those D1 schools. As an athlete you never feel inferior that what makes you work harder to become better than your opponent. For instance my cousin was a undersized linebacker that lead the cumberland county schools in tackles, picked western and I asked him about his choice he said..."we play alabama next year" My belief is that with our current facilities there's no way a top recruit should be looking at App. St. WCU over us and i think that scheduling plays somewhat of a part in it. I just don't know how big of a part

So I was given some old records.. main ingredients, staples singers, red foxx live, nat king cole... so i bought me a player and had a great time listening got into my groove, when my iPhone notified me i had a text and it read " Man I just saw online where SCSU is playing Texas A&M" So I quickly opened up my Macbook to verify this info and indeed I saw on their schedule not only Texas A&M but Georgia State and Arizona. I quickly jumped up and realized I was late for work listening to all those old records. Jumped in my car and downloaded all those records from itunes in a matter of seconds and started my commute to work.
So I say that to say lets not get caught up in nostalgia and forget about recruiting. Some of these kids don't know how Hype a A&T vs. WSSU or NCCU game is and you can't sale that to them on a visit. But to tell them we play Tx. A&M, Arizona this year and the scouts will be there so thats your chance to been seen my pro scouts. "Makes you wonder how the kid from SC got away"
NCCU plays Duke FAMU play S Fla BCCU plays mia....
