because they won't agree to come to aggie stadium without a return visit from us. until wssu swallows their ego like tuskegee does who beats fcs asu and fcs aamu on the fcs school's home fields, then it don't make sense for us to play them in winston.
i don't see any fcs schools traveling to a d2 school's home field and i don't see any bcs schools traveling to an fcs school's home field. so why should we travel to wssu?
they wanna play us? then let them bring their azzes to greensboro for a payout. otherwise, we don't have to kiss their azzes and go to winston just because they're in the d2 finals. sorry, it don't work that way...

I don't think it should matter in this case if WSSU is DII, DIII, or whateva. We are only 30 miles apart and it should get done. It looks suspect when we don't play them in football or MBB but we play them in WBB.
I will just say this without expounding much more.......we know there are some differences about money but, hopefully,#1-- Chancellors Martin and Reeves will have to resolve their personal differences for this to work out.
There you have it!

Dooms you shouldn't even have to find these examples. We are HBCU family. Renewing this rivarly make sense to everybody. not playing in football once and basketball twice a year is the absolute dummest thing ever. and we talk about needing money. sounds like we are putting are pride before the money. we should sign ten year agreements for both basketball and football.

Hey I didn't sit in on the negotiations but I always heard that we offered $30,000 to WSSU several years ago and they wanted $50,000 and a "home & away" game. At that time the numbers didn't work out so we passed.
To be honest with you, I'm glad we haven't played them these past two years. I know we didn't have the talent in 2011 to beat them and probably would have even lost this year. By not playing them these past two years the anticipation has built and that means tickets sales will go through the roof. I would like to play them next year especially since I predict they will be DII National Champions. And by that time I think we will have a better shot at beating them. (That may be tough early in the season since we will not have spring ball in 2013!) But our chances are better.
For what every reason we haven't played them doesn't matter...the time is right to play them now.

It looks suspect when we don't play them in football or MBB but we play them in WBB. well, it shouldn't look suspect. their wbb did what their men wouldn't do and that's travel to greensboro to play us...

wssu could solve this whole issue if they swallow their pride like other d2 programs and visit aggie stadium. it would be stupid for us to go to their stadium. there's a reason bcs teams don't visit fcs teams, and fcs teams don't visit d2 teams.
we don't need to bow to wssu just because they're doing well at the d2 level. if they can't come to greensboro, then forget them. you don't see us traveling to vul or wvsu, do you?

You're right.
I am scared we will see VUL on our home schedule next year instead of the possible D2 National Champions.

why don't wssu take a page out of tuskegee's book? if they think they're so much better than us, then do like tuskegee did at asu and prove it on our field. tuskegee backs their smack up by beating swac schools on the swac school's home field.
if tuskegee has no problem traveling to the swac, then why should wssu pout about traveling to the meac...

I want this game to happen, but dont think it will. I dont know whos right or whos wrong. I dont know what we offered for sure or what their counter offer was FOR SURE.
But here are some facts. 1) As soon as WSSU starts having near .500 seasons again the attendance will plummet and they will need A&T for a big payday 2) A&T can hold out longer and play the "You are Division 2" card while doing so 3) If A&T wins the MEAC they will NOT need WSSU and the payout for WSSU will get a lot lower. 4) If A&T sets up a "pay day" game with a FBS school WSSU will have even less leverage
So, to sum it all up. The longer WSSU waits and refuses to make a deal(if it's them that's the problem) they will be the ones that will lose out.
