Yes, he gave us a nod. He attended this past summer's football camp and was high on our list because of his speed shuttle times and athletic ability to play either offense or defense. The 247 had him leaning heavily toward us going into this weekend. He'll be a DB for us. Folks had complained that we didn't recruit Alamance County any in the past. Based on the early commits that is no longer be the case. He's a big catch for us. UNC had offered him a scholarship. We stole one. Now we have to weather the UNC pressure. www.hudl.com/athlete/542798/malik-wilson#

Any news on the recruitment of a QB? i'm counting on quick being our starting qb next season and if so, we can win with quick. i'd prefer that we sign a proven "passer" or a proven dual threat qb, but if not, i can roll with quick. bustle will have an entire offseason and a spring practice to devise an offense that capitalizes on quick's strengths. so if we don't sign a "stud" qb, i don't have a problem rolling with quick. i mean, after all, he did play the entire game in our win over app state last season. so i'm not gonna get my hopes up that we sign a "stud" qb. if we do sign one, that's all the better. but if we don't, it won't deem our season doomed. i honestly believe that we can still win with quick as our starter...

Its the waiting game on four kids that fit the bill of what we looking for for a QB. However I expect, just like oleschool, for Quick to be greatly improved and ready to go now that he has had a year with a actual QB coach. Dawson will also surprise some folk come spring ball.

Keep an eye on QB Blake Greene from Red Springs. Man, this kid is a monster. A modern day Patell Troutman but way, way better.
No Joke.

Kid has a nice arm. Only thing is he's kind of small but, hell, if Russell can do it at 5'11 and 200 lbs, don't rule this guy out.

He's not the tallest QB in the world but as you said Russell Wilson and Drew Brees are 5-11 tops, and they are two of the best QBs in the NFL. Just looking at his film, his release, his accuracy, and his mechanics are all on point. Once he breaks containment he is complete nightmare once he gets to the perimeter. I don't think we can afford to pass on him especially after what another little guy named Cohen was able to do for our running game this past year. We have offered him a full ride so the coaching staff must be sold on how he projects out as a QB. He so reminds me of those great BCU quarterbacks that Wyatt had like Patell Troutman and especially Alan Suber who could just break down any defense because teams had prepare equally for both the run and the pass, and they still would beat you either way. 247sports.com/Player/Blake-Greene-33382www.hudl.com/athlete/o/518073/#highlights/52015376

i did see him step up into the pocket a couple of times and he made several "accurate" passes while under pressure with a couple of defenders in his face. a1 is right, his mechanics look pretty good, so his fundamentals are pretty sound. if he's playing 1a/2a ball, i just need to see dude playing against some stiffer competition where wr's don't get as much separation and generally the linemen are bigger. but i seen him "thread the needle" a few times on the video, so he throws an accurate pass...

I was waiting to see if we were going to announce it when the JUCO period signing took place in December but that's ok. You always have to wait to make sure a JUCO is cleared and is registered. Anyway, the guy is a prolific pocket passer was second team all California JUCO selection and was responsible for 28 TDS this past year and ten on the ground.
Led the California JUCO ranks in quarterback ratings at 90 and passing completion percentage rate at 63.3 with 18 TDs with ten INTs, was 132 out of 210 attempts, 2338 yards, also 319 yds. rushing and another ten TDs on the ground. Led his JUCO team to 2 consecutive bowl wins (American and Patriot) as the starter and a top five ranking both years.
Holds all kinds of records from high school as well and is from the San Deigo area and is an only child.
Trues and Thrilla, this was the Cali kid I was talking about Broadway had zero'ed in on at the NCCU tailgate last fall.

i didn't have to see but only about 2 minutes of his high school highlight video to tell that he's a true "pocket passer". unlike a lot of high school qb's who sit back in the shot gun and throw over top without pressure in their faces, this guy "steps up into the pocket" like a true pocket passer should and throws an accurate pass while under pressure.
those are the two characteristics i always look for first when judging qb's. can he stand in the pocket without "happy feet" and throw an "accurate pass" while defensive linemen are in his face, that's what i look for first and foremost and this guy passes the test. the fact that he has some mobility and can run a little bit is just a bonus. but its his passing that we need the most and i think he can get the job done for us...
