He is a legit threat with his legs too. If you are looking at the high school highlights, those are 2 years ago. Look at his 2013 highlights vs. high school, shorter is pretty doggone good. But, we will see come August '14.

After looking at the facts, I don't think broadway and bustle are bringing him to a&t thru juco to sit on the bench....it sounds like assurances were made he would get a chance to compete for the starting job. My thoughts....

I'll say this about him after looking at his complete JUCO tape. There is going to a serious battle between Quick and Foster over the starting QB job. Foster is good. Really good.

he runs a 4.58 forty which isn't bad at all for a qb. academic achievements include being an ap scholar awardee, made the principal honor roll, was a national football foundation scholar athlete, and made the union tribune "all academic team" (2 years). so there's a very good chance that he'll help our apr for 2 years.
i dunno, but unless quick can step up his passing skills, i think he's gonna have a tough time beating this guy out for the starting qb position. because bustle stayed with kindle almost exclusively last season, i get the impression that bustle prefers a qb who is a pocket passing threat. this guy has all the tools, though he's only 6 feet tall...

I was waiting to see if we were going to announce it when the JUCO period signing took place in December but that's ok. You always have to wait to make sure a JUCO is cleared and is registered. Anyway, the guy is a prolific pocket passer was second team all California JUCO selection and was responsible for 28 TDS this past year and ten on the ground. Led the California JUCO ranks in quarterback ratings at 90 and passing completion percentage rate at 63.3 with 18 TDs with ten INTs, was 132 out of 210 attempts, 2338 yards, also 319 yds. rushing and another ten TDs on the ground. Led his JUCO team to 2 consecutive bowl wins (American and Patriot) as the starter and a top five ranking both years. Holds all kinds of records from high school as well and is from the San Deigo area and is an only child. Trues and Thrilla, this was the Cali kid I was talking about Broadway had zero'ed in on at the NCCU tailgate last fall. Hmm... Fascinating move. Side note: It kind of reminds me of when Howard plucked my big cousin out of a Cali JUCO. He played well for Howard. Same size and intangibles. Only difference is my cousin was more of a scrambler.

Hope the Aggies sign more than one qb so Quick can switch positions

OFFENSE: After leading the state in offense in 2012 the JAGS face the task of replacing the entire offense many of whom have moved on to universities. The unquestioned leader of the offense is sophomore QB Frank Foster (Valhalla HS). Foster finished the 2012 season leading the offense for 4 TD drives in our Bowl win. He also led Southern California in pass completion percentage on the season....

I previously said I was standing behind Quick as our starting QB until a better alternative ended up on our roster. When Foster signs his NLI, Quick had better be a significantly-improved passer and field general in order to see the field. This is a great piece of scouting and recruiting by our staff... especially his academic record. Russell Wilson and Drew Brees have proven that size is not a requirement to be a high-caliber QB. I'm smiling as I type this..... OSA is dead on about the preference for someone who can make plays from the pocket. We may win the MEAC with a run-first QB, a strong running game and a beast defense, but there's no way we make any noise in the FCS playoffs without a passing QB. He will be a great recruiting sample going forward as well. Three things that stood out about his JUCO highlights: 1. He's a deliberate, decisive decision maker. 2. He's playing without fear (goes along with #1) 3. He's a anticipation passer with a quick release... and a pretty good arm. I'm imagining Desmond Lawrence, Xavier Griffin and Denzel Keyes at WR with this QB in our conference.... and my smile just got bigger.... This is good enough news to make me forget about the NCCU loss... Will he be able to enroll in time for spring practice... or will he have to enroll in the summer session?

My cousin is a HS senior also from the San Diego area and plays wideout. His dad and I want him to attend an HBCU. Of course, I'm pushing A&T. How do I put him in touch with Broadway without violating NCAA rules? I'm an AAF member. Evan's highlights: www.hudl.com/athlete/o/1854908/evan-beebe

Remember Quick was originally brought in to play on defense in the secondary; that's how I understood it. I don't see Quick being our QB option unless absolutely needed.

Evan's highlights: www.hudl.com/athlete/o/1854908/evan-beebe ncaa football recruiting rules are complicated, but i don't think there are any rules that prohibit a recruit from taking the initiative to contact any college coach. obviously there are strict rules the other way around (when a coach can contact recruits). but i think a recruit can contact a college coach "on his own" at any time other than dead periods if i'm not mistaken...
