It really doesn't matter who we hire! None of ya'll gonna be satisfied with him! Aggies are like New York Jets fans at the NFL Draft! I don't really care who we hire anymore I just want a doggone coach!!!

I disagree.
Fans on this site performed our own selection process two years ago and we told the university to hire Frazier. However, Wheeler just didn't choose to listen.

i dunno, lilboy. we can't just hire anybody. this is a very "critical" hire. if we don't get it right this time, our program will spiral downward to rock bottom and stay there for many more years. no way we can fire the next coach after one or two years, or even three years for that matter. whoever we hire, we're gonna have to stick with him for "at least" 3 years and probably more no matter what his record is. so if we pick a dud, we're gonna have to stick with him for several more years on top of the last 7 miserable years we've already suffered...

Most Aggies just want us to beat WSSU, NCCU, Howard and win Homecoming while the Band shows up and shows out during Halftime. |

you are correct; but Martin wants much more than that. We may or may not agree with how he goes about his businezz.
But i do think he wants more than the average hbcu fan. I think the guy truly wants to be comperable from an athletic standpoint with other mid-majors in the NC system.

I guess if you are good enough to do those 3 things then you should be good enough to get 4-5 more wins in the process, so they go together anyway. sheeet, Hayes used to lose homecoming a lot, but beat Central. It was when he didn't do either that he got canned. So saying that we want to do those 3 things is just something us Aggies say cause it sounds good, but what we really mean is if we do that there is a good chance we are challenging for the MEAC. |

I don't post on this site much but I come hear and read the post about 3 times a day. I played for A&T the last time we were really good from 1998 until 2002 and I feel as though the fan support depends on the teams you have. If you are good enough to win the MEAC than the fans want to see you do that and they will support, if you are only good enough to beat NCCU, WSSU and win homecoming then the fans atleast want you to do that!

Martin may be in over his head with this, especially with Athletic Trainers suggesting that we don't pay for sickle cell tests that could ultimately save a student's life and Alumni not donating enough and forcing Athletics place Student Athlete health & well being paramount. its not up to alumni to donate funds so that our athletic department places an emphasis on student athletes health and well being. even if alums didn't donate not one single dime, its still the institution's responsibility to cover the cost of physicals for their athletes. that's just a cost of running an athletic department. if we can't afford to cover physicals/sickle cell tests for our athletes, then we shouldn't be in the business of collegiate athletics at all, period. its an "inherit" cost of running an athletics program, not some overhead cost that alums need to foot the bill for... |

Since we have less than 10 scholarships, as someone posted earlier, maybe Martin thinks we dont need anyone in place before signing day. Im assuming that the majority of those scholarships will go to the numerous props/ineligible players that were sitting out this year once they regain eligibility. Still a dumb thought process though.
