i didn't see "anything" in this guy's bio that says he should be the next coach at a&t. matter of fact, i saw something that says he's definitely not the guy for our program. check this out;
haven't we already tried a position coach from texas a&m? not a good omen to say the least...

Was George Pugh and the other coach at Texas A&M together? NO Even so, every coach has his OWN set of beliefs and practices for which to run a program.

There may be plenty of reasons not to hire this guy, but I dont think his coaching stint at TAMU is one of them. Yeah there is a lot of stink on that program from our previous experience with a coach from there, but that doesnt reflect on this guy. Unless he was a Fobbs understudy or something (which he wasnt)

I don't think he'll get serious consideration.

No where in the above bio does it show Mr Pugh holding a HC or Coordinator position at the college level. He may be an excellent position coach, but position coaches don't make strategy or policy. We need an organizer, a motivator, and a master chess player. Add a high quality strength and conditioning coach, with position coaches that can teach solid techniques, and A&T football will be BACK !

Pugh also has head coaching experience, directing the Alabama A&M program from 1989-91. In his three seasons, the Bulldogs posted a 19-10 record, winning three Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles and reaching the NCAA Division II playoffs in 1991. He got uninvited by the school president halfway through his final year because some of his players beat the hell out of some kid. He had the luck of coaching there when Alan Keyes was the school prez. The guy is different from Fobbs. Fobbs had been affiliated with losers for most of his college career and had never been a head coach outside high school. That being said, he'd be much better off going to Savannah State. This program has no business looking at any coach that doesn't have strong ties in this state already. We're notorious for underfunding recruiting, and our scholarship limits, academic requirements and rule changes regarding out-of-state students will further handicap recruiting. He'd never get any of the kids he got before into A&T, period. It would be a VERY bad career move for him. Savannah State would be a brilliant career move for him.

While we're thinking outside of the box: How about we contact Mike Haywood, the coach that was fired after about 3 weeks at Pitt for laying hands on his baby moms!
Kinda like a Bozeman situation at Morgan State..

Now WE ARE into 2 0 1 1 and NO COACH nor AD; this makes US look like a "middle of the road" CIAA school;a TROUBLING QUESTION is...HOW MANY OTHER searches in the Academic area were/are conducted in the SAME " bush league" MANNER.

Yea, I know. Just jokes. But how many coaches do you think can bounce back from beating down the mother of their kid? Especially in this day and age with all these activists groups. PR nightmare

George Pugh? Not going to happen. Been out of the limelight and away from the crucial parts of the game as a head coach for too long. Whoever, the new guy is, he might want him on staff as top assistant but never as a head coach.
