He is still getting paid and we are 0-8. Now we are paying two coaches at one time. Was there anyway we could have avoided this. I thought Smalls contract was bought out.

He should be utterly embarrassed with the shape he left this program in. There's not enough money in the world that would make me feel good about destroying my own alma mater.

I apologize, but do you really believe that nonsense you are spouting off?

Oldcoach, if you disagree with something that someone has said, please use this forum to set the record straight. Just logging on and saying that it is "nonsense" does not make for meaningful dialogue.
At least have the courage to clarify your position in detail.

I'm pretty sure we are paying Charlie Davis, but I thought we only paid Small 4 or 5 months severance pay. Anyhow, Charlie was a bad choice by Renick and Small was a bad choice by Charlie. Bad decisions like that is the reason we can't increase the budget...we're still paying people that are terminated. Furthermore, if Charlie was caught with his hand in the cookie jar, he should consider himself lucky that he just got terminated and not prosecuted.

Do you really think he's sitting somewhere laughing?
Is it really Small's fault the athletic budget ain't been raised in six years?
Do you really think this team would be 0-8 if Small was still coach?
If you answer any of those questions with a yes your parents were related prior to their wedding date.
Once and for all you ignorant coons need to quit blaming Small for every damn thing that's happened to this program. This simply is not his fault. The reason we will stay mired in crap is because we continue to point fingers at people that can't do anything about the current situation. Point a got damn finger at the people whose job it is NOW.
Small is sitting somewhere shaking his head that not only did he get fired, his alma mater is letting clowns graduate that have no ability to think beyond playing the blame game. You can't even spell his damn last name right. Sad.
No, HAYES is laughing somewhere. Our problems started the day he was unceremoniously shown the door. Guess who's fault that is? It ain't Small's.

You could have given Small a million dollar budget each year and he still would have chosen not to take a knee to run out the clock (Morgan 2003), he still would have taken absolutely no responsiblity for the team's failures (every damn press conference or interview) and he still would have allowed his dimwitted assistants to burn bridges with all of the local HS coaches and not bother to watch recruiting tapes that alumni sent to them.
Money was not what caused Small to go 3-8 two years in a row and it is not what caused him to assemble the roster of scrubs and misfits that Fobbs was left with.
The truth of the matter is most of the things that are wrong with this program today came to a head during Small's tenure.
Let's remember, we have lost 13 games in a row but we have only played 8 games this year. That means we had arealdy dropped five straight before Fobbs even stepped on campus.

You've got to sprinkle true enough at least 9 times during any Small interview. No amount of money would've cured Small's inadequacies as coach. Still I doubt seriously he took any pleasure in the downturn of this program.

I miss be missing something here, unless George Small is using some type of Voodoo, I don't think he was on the sidelines coaching homecoming for the 7th game of the season against a team with only one win and that was against a Div II team. If you have paid any attention in the MEAC only about 2 teams have been consistant in their playing winning football, Hampton and Del State. Norfolk State hasn't won since they beat us, Morgan State is inconsistant although they are playing very close games.
Look at what FAMU's coach Carter was left with plus he is working on reduced scholarships. He has to reduced his scholarships down to only 39 in the next two years. And do you know what answer I get everytime I mention how good a job Carter is doing...I get this, "he has Florida players on his team." If that was the case Savannah State would not have lost to Johnson C. Smith this past weekend 26-7. Savannah State has a lot Florida players and a bunch like 12 from Miami.
We know 10 out 11 opponents for next year. Name one game you are 60 percent sure that A&T will win next year...don't hurry I'll wait until I can log on later tonight.

Nah Topp Dogg, it was: "very much so".
That was the catch phrase of the Small era.
