We can't get our band to attend our football team's conference championship game. So, I ask you, are you really expecting them to show at the Spring Football game? Food for thought...

Ahh so it's the BGMM fault that the team lost huh. lol you guys are a trip No one thinks the band is the reason we loss to Gardner-Webb. We loss to GWU because they were the better team that day plain and simple. I believe some on this board are referring to the fact we always preach about how HBCU football is an experience, which boils down to a difference in cheerleaders style and band style. However at some of the biggest/important games on schedule the BGMM has been absent for one reason or another. - @ Jacksonville state (huge FCS non-conference game) - @ Gardner-Webb (Big South title game) - 2024 spring game (trying to Kickstart Aggie Football resurgence) They did throw us a bone during the WNIT UNCG game with like a 15 piece ensemble with 1 Tuba, but that probably only occurred with the news of the Spartan pep band scheduled to appear. I got a sneaky suspicion no Spartan pep band no BGMM. But I digress. I'm sure there are others I'm missing, I like the word SYNERGY that's been used a lot here recently. We should all be working together on on accord for a common goal. It just seems like in this instance, the BGMM, is it's own entity, operating on its own schedule. Football and basketball are on the schedule just not priority. Like everything else I guess it comes to done to dollars and scents. We've seen the BGMM/Cold Steel at various winter/spring events including the Charlotte Hornets. I'm assuming they are compensated for those performances and not for MBB/WBB games. I love the BGMM, and donate to them, I went a day early to Celebration Bowl to see them against JSU. I don't know how to fix this, can't we all just get along.

It's the same issue it's always been. $$$$$. Anytime you see the BGMM at a non school event , they are being paid. That money goes to travel and the extra goes to the general fund to cover the band for other stuff. I'm not sure that ya'll truly grasp that 75% of last years band isn't on scholarship. A&T has finally pledged more money for the band and to give the band a permanent home Reason band didn't go to Jacksonville State - $$$ journalnow.com/the-syllabus-so-where-is-the-n-c-a-t-band/article_b5b2ec94-f024-5862-9a1a-725c9915d6a3.html

i'm not a band head, but relative to swac bands, i've always liked "the human jokebox" (southern unv.) and "the sonic boom" (jackson state). to me, southern has by far "the best" band name in the world, i luv it...

Coach Brown: "This is a dawn of a new era of Aggie football. We've really been working hard and I want everyone to come out to the Spring Game this Saturday and show your support."
BGMM: "Girl, I know he aint talking to us. Show support? Hell, you better Show Me the Money".

Didn't see the ROTC shooting the cannon when we scored either

ROTC is fine. But them shooting the canon when we score scares the Bejesus out of me.
