ROTC is fine. But them shooting the canon when we score scares the Bejesus out of me. Gotcha....is it like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cannon? I like when baseball has the dog barking. I'd like more of that at all A&T games. Get a sack, or make a big play, or TD? Loud a$$ dog barking. You turn a double play, hit a dinger, or strike out the side? Loud a$$ barking dog. Volleyball scores an ace, block, or huge point kill? Yep, you get a loud a$$ dog barking!

We can't get our band to attend our football team's conference championship game. So, I ask you, are you really expecting them to show at the Spring Football game? Food for thought... Ahh so it's the BGMM fault that the team lost huh. lol you guys are a trip No way my friend, I am not going there. It's just an interesting dynamic, though. I support the band to the max but, I can't say I understand a decision like that. But anyway...my 2 cents.

Band falls under an academic department not Athletics. When Renick was Chancellor, when I marched 99 to 02 we went everywhere. Because money could be moved from internal pockets in athletics. Band now operates on a budget from the college of arts humanities and social sciences. And trips are planned from said budget. What isn't helpful is things like this , which is already making the rounds thru current band students and band alumni. But then folks wonder why it's separation and division

I honestly loved the chaos that was caused by the blue death valley tweet yesterday. I dont agree with some of the stuff said but the word SYNERGY is something that needs to be the word for the upcoming year.
The swac bands seem to understand SYNERGY and how important being at events they may not even want to be at are.
For us, there could be more conversations between athletics and band program to seee how they can be incorporated. Based on some band alums that tweeted BDV back the band doesn't feel the love from the masses and because of that don't want to show up where they are not appreciated.

Feelings...we talking about feelings? The band #1 priority it to support athletics and that should be clearly communicated. #2 priority is to promote the school. If they do not understand that, there needs to be a leadership change within the band.

We can't just expect the Band to jump at all athletics' requests at every beck and call. Athletics does not financially support Athletics. They are a completely different auxiliary org. What needs to happen is Coach Brown, Coach Rob, Coach Ross, Earl, and Dr. Ruff need to start meeting NOW to plan the 24/25 calendar. Let Dr. Ruff know now the potential games you want them involved with. This includes any potential Playoff games, late-season CAA road games, spring practice, and any other event (including basketball games). If these games need additional funding to fully support, Dr. Ruff needs to let them know and Athletics will need to work with Campus Enterprises and Student Affairs to ensure there is money to cover these expenses. What can't happen is for them to approach the band well into the spring, asking for their involvement in the spring game or any other major football game in a short time frame. Machine doesn't work that way.

I dont even know if athletics requested the BGMM to perform at the Spring Game and got turned down. Honestly, the school probably didn't even finalize a plan for what they were gonna go at the Spring Game until that Wednesday & Thursday. A lot of things looked hastily put together.
My point has always been about the lack of synergy between all departments on campus. That starts at the top. The Band Geeks on twitter are just emotionally unstable and think any time you mention them it is an insult. But I never said cross-collaboration was the sole responsibility of the BGMM.
A new chancellor can probably get everybody on the same page in no time. Chancellor Martin allowed this culture to exist but a new visionary can quickly right the ship.

If you want their purpose to support athletics, then fund them like a sport. Yall do realize A&T issues out degrees in various Music displines right? Should all their coursework be focused towards marching band

I always look forward to the BGMM, for they are top ambassadors of our beloved HBCUs, but is this the same group of Aggies that turned their noses up at other HBCUs for having their band and other “pageantry” at their spring games around 2020/2021? I recall very well some of BDV saying it was too “SWACish” or “MEACish”, but here we are 3 years later … I knew this day would eventually come.

Bring in a director from the SWAC where they understand the role of the band in supporting athletics. Volunteers understand what they are signing up for, if they do not want to support athletics, they can find another club to join. No excuses.

That's your opinion and your entitled to it. Please voice your displeasure to the new chancellor , AD and other alums. I'm sure Bonthrilla can help you start a social media campaign

I am not you, I don’t make anything up; Try again with someone else.. who knows exactly what thread it could be under, could be A&T Football, General Sports, Rocking the Crowd, etc. but it was stated, more than once..
