What a major difference, NC State band understands their role!!! performingartstech.dasa.ncsu.edu/perform/groups/athletic-bands/The marching band and pep band provide the soundtrack to the NC State game day experience for our student-athletes and fans. As a student-musician, or a member of the color guard, dance team and twirlers who make up the NC State marching band and pep band, you deliver school spirit and energy to athletic events and other campus festivities, and represent the university and the Wolfpack family both on and off campus. You also spend your days surrounded by your closest friends, making music together on the biggest stage the university has to offer. What’s better than that? It costs roughly $100 per semester for uniform, equipment and (optional) instrument rentals, on top of your tuition for MUS 131. All costs associated with travel to football or basketball games are covered for students. Occasional international trips are optional and costs would be the responsibility of the student. NC State band is under the department of Performing Arts and Technology.... performingartstech.dasa.ncsu.edu/

And if you're going to use another school to compare A&T too, it would help your analysis to find a school that doesn't get a bigger budget and actually has a band facility

NC State has a bigger budget, yet their students are paying $100 for uniform and equipment lol. This is comical, all the excuses.

Hence why they raise money. Band isn't boycotting anything. THE BAND HAS NEVER PERFORMED AT THE SPRING GAME. It's never happened since i've been affiliated with the band and i started in 1999. I've spoken to alums as far back as the 80's and it hasn't happened. you can be done. Just like the current students and younger alums are with the topic. They refer to Bluedeathvalley as the old guys who don't do anything for anyone at A&T but complain. The constant attacks do nothing but continue to drive the wedge. Great job

Feelings? Feelings...we talking about feelings? The band #1 priority it to support athletics and that should be clearly communicated. #2 priority is to promote the school. If they do not understand that, there needs to be a leadership change within the band. The band is over 70 percent volunteers meaning they don't have schlorships. If you want their purpose to support athletics, then fund them like a sport. Yall do realize A&T issues out degrees in various Music displines right? Should all their coursework be focused towards marching band Let's see if this argument balances in reverse: How many athletes are NOT on scholarship? Can that be a valid excuse for them to *neglect academics *not participate in activities alongside scholarship athletes until funding, facilities, etc...makes them happy? Marching bands and athletics have gone hand in hand since....forever. Marching bands have been an extension of academic institutions AND support for athletics since forever. It shouldn't take Earl, or the Chancellor to get them at sporting events. They should WANT to be there. Now, I can't say with any kind of certainty whether they wanted to be there, or at any athletic event, or not. But your argument is just as Aggie2039 stated...excuses. If the band has never performed at the spring game, does that mean they never should? Why not want the spring game to become a bigger event, a bigger draw of supporters (i.e. DONORS)? Excuses are like marching bands...every school has them, some just know when to use them.

You know where your answers lie. But you rather go back and forth on social media. Hell Doug sister is the Golden Delight Director. You could ask your questions and discuss with her. She could get you a meeting with Ruff. But you rather go back and forth and poke the bear on twitter. That's the attacks sir. And at the end of the day , it's just going to hurt this site because those kids aren't going to listen or support anything that you do.

Do you think I am going to stop sharing my thoughts on a subject just so I can get more people to like me ... or join the site? BDV has been here for 20 years. The fact that you and I are having this conversation on this message board at this very moment is proof that our site is still thriving and still important.

I'm trying to be a friend and advice you to chill. You brand yourself as the #1 source of information as it relates to NCA&T. Pissing off your base of support isn't the best move, but you move how u see fit
