I agree with almost everything but at the top of my list would be knowledge X and O and then recruiting. For me it was not the talent that A&T had problems with, but the development and execution of that Talent on the court..i.e THE talent was there but the Coaching was Not . So for me you can't really have one without the other . Example Shumpert is a very good recruiter but his coaching experience falls short (you have pointed this out yourself many times) . again i reiterate, being a "great recruiter" alone is "insufficient" to be a head coach. so the ability to recruit is where i'd "start", but not where i'd end...Just referencing the top of my criteria list . Coaching Knowledge X and O first and Recruiting second is what "I" would start my search criteria with. Not disagreeing just my preference.

My lovely lady (a decorated Aggie Alumna) & I got into a heated discussion about exactly WHO will get the job. It is my prediction that an Afro American asst coach from a PWI will be the choice over an Afro American HC from a HBCU because the decision makers truly believe that the PWI ice & water is colder and tastier. BJ McKie from Wake Forest is the rumored favorite, & he has ZERO HC experience, but hey…He played for Mr Charlie at South Carolina & is an assistant at Wake Forest, so that’s better than an applicant up 85 North who’s a proven winner who meets the criterion listed on the job posting.
Bottom line…While our decision makers are playing hide the sausage, PWI’s are hiring coaches within 1-2 days. Our players are jumping in the portal while we wait for superman.
It’s a foregone conclusion now…We have wasted time & as a result have accepted the idea that men’s basketball will struggle (suck) for 2-3 seasons before we see the benefits of the new coach’s recruits & coaching philosophy.
Mark my words…A&T is moving away from the HBCU coaching tree to fit their NEW narrative. It’s a new day at 1601 East Market Street.
Enjoy women’s soccer, lacrosse, swimming, & golf.

So Yiu work for A&T yet Yiu say stuff like Mr Charlie, I’m going to find out who Yiu are and send your messages to administration because yiu are not the type of person that needs to be employed at A&T. I know you are a Kappa and #12…definitely going to look on Twitter to find your actual name. My apologies Yiu work for Washington County Schools…imagine them getting a hold of these racist messages you make on this board.

It IS a foregone conclusion that the university is seeking to move away from its HBCU identity to fit in to the culture of the CAA and beyond. If you think that the CAA is our penultimate goal, I have some oceanfront property in Utah to sell you. The best (or worst) is yet to come.

Oh yes...Aggie2039, if penultimate is too big of a word for you, please allow me to help you...
It means "next to last" in order of priority or objective. The university has ambitions, and the hiring practices moving forward in all endeavors-academic & extracurricular-will reflect priorities, inferred & stated, moving forward.
And by all means... Follow through with your "threat." Please.

Dose it matter what color the next Coach is ? I don't give a flip what color he is as long as he can coach and recruit the right talent for the court and class room . Hell A&T or any HBCU should move away from the Old HBCU coaching Merry-go-round and out of it's comfort zone in its hiring practices. I'm no fan of Deion Sanders but he said something that rings true " I left JSU ,I don't leave Black People ". I made a statement when A&T secretly jump to the big s***it . That one day there will be no HBCU's on our schedule not named Hampton . To a agree I still believe that, but I also believe that A&T will always remain a cultural diverse HBCU that is rooted in her heritage and tradition as an HBCU educational Institution . I'm a Born And Bred Aggie Greensboro Born two blocks and Raised on Tee's campus . I started at TEE but walked at West Texas State undergrad and Wayland Baptist Masters . I don't know you or our old you are but I will say this YOU GOT A&T F-UP if you think what you have posted is true. AGGIE PRIDE MAKE AGGIES DO . SMIB RESPECT.

Most HBCU coaches that lose their positions are never heard from again. Or end up at another HBCU..i.e Mary Go Round . There has always been a long standing Joke about head coaches at HBCU's. If they start there they stay there , If they move to an HBCU from a bigger program the chances are slim to none that they will ever get off the HBCU Merry-go-round..i.e Coaches come to HBCU's to die . Regardless of color . And if they are successful against PWI/P5 competition they will be snapped up by either a better funded Mid-major or lower tier P5 programs. Having said that whoever our new HC is, if he is successful against P5 PWI’s. A&T will not have him long Regardless of color . A&T will always be an HBCU (even if some try to make it otherwise) but that's another conversation to be visited with and if it starts happens 😆.
