Interim Head Coach Phil Shumpert pulled in a really big fish this evening with a solid commitment from Rivals 4-star shooting guard/wing Marquavious “Future” Brown from Newton HS in Covington Ga, a decommit from University of Georgia. That may depend on if Shumpert stays on staff or goes 🤔 If he stays on staff it shouldn't matter. Shumpert is a good recruiter and should be retained on staff period . The jury is still out on his head coaching abilities . |

The jury is still out on his head coaching abilities . that's probably true. but what if he doesn't land the head coach gig and isn't retained on staff? i suppose it depends on who the next head coach will be but looking at the caliber of recruits that shumpert is attracting, the next head coach (if its not shumpert) would be "wise" to keep him on staff... |

Brown remains committed to A&T despite the incoming coaching change(s) and the recent announced portal exodus of some players and will make it official on national signing day.

Glad to see he is holding to his commitment but, man...that Achilles injury, phew! That's a long road back. Of course, I wish him a speedy recovery.

Hopefully it was just a severe strain which would keep you out at least 3 weeks. If it was a tear or rupture that required surgery it would take about 6 months in recovery . |
