I'm beginning to get this odd feeling we may actually show a bit better inside the conference by regular season's end in Year 2 despite all the youth on an all-new squad but with a far more complete and experienced coaching staff in place.

I hope so but I think our lack of height will be a major issue. We have 2 post players 6”8 to 6”9 and one 6”7 post players on the team

I hope so but I think our lack of height will be a major issue. We have 2 post players 6”8 to 6”9 and one 6”7 post players on the team true, but i have less concern about our lack of size now than i did during the early recruiting signings. now that i know we'll get ample scoring from the other 4 positions, to me that means the d2 transfer post player will not have to score a lot of points for us and therefore can concentrate on what he does best, which is "defend and rebound". i think we can be competitive even with our lack of size this season as long as we can keep the d2 transfer outta foul trouble. coach ross' latest signings eased my concerns for this year's team because he finally brought in some high volume scorers. complement that with a roster full of guys who are "good to great defenders", spells a competitive team in my opinion. perhaps not "championship caliber", but definitely "competitive"...

We have added 6-8 Nikolaos Chitikpwdis, a power forward/center from the Greece U-18 National Team fresh off the European U-18 FIBA championships last month. He averaged 6.5 points and 3.7 rebounds during that tournament.

There's plenty of YouTube game video of the Greek National team from last month's tournament. Watched a decent bit of a couple of their games this evening. He's primarily a post player who plays solid man defense, rebounds well, has a good body that can run the floor with decent offense in and around the paint. Was in a sixth man role but averaged 20 plus minutes in playing time. Was in double figures in three of the seven games they played before losing in the quarters.

I also like he is young probably just turned 18 so he could easily have grown and inch or 2 this summer

Hopefully our new coach has a better understanding of how to get the most out of a player like this. If you couldn't leap out of the gym, Jones didn't know what to do with you and God knows what last year's interim coach was doing.
