When we played NCCU this year it wasn't a sellout. Obviously, the gamezone and the cost of games now are having an impact on opposing team fans. Come one man. That's a cheap shot at the game zone. A meaningless game on the last week of the season and you expecta labor day weekend NCCU crowd? On top of that NCCU had a terrible year. We all knew that wasn't going to happen. Gamezone or not.

I don't recall selling out with WSSU. And I lived in WS from 2000 to 2006. We had a good crowd but still not a sell out. So technically, the subject is mute.
As I stated before, with circumstances as they are, you must win. I say again, you must win to get the local populations interest in attending. That way it will not matter who's the opposing team.

i dunno about that, groove. thru the fobbs years and that 27 game losing streak, we still averaged more in football attendance than most fcs schools. granted we didn't attract as many fans as we did during the hayes era when we were winning, but a lot of our folks kept coming out nonetheless. i don't think we really nose dived in attendance until it became apparent during coach lee's 2nd season that our program was gonna continue to lose big time.
i think that's why we saw so much hesitancy from our supporters in broadway's first season. folk still didn't believe. but if broadway gets off to a great start this season and sustains a winning season, i think whatever fair weather fans we have will comeback this year...

I think most Aggies support the football and basketball program, even if they suck. Most of our fans work hard for their pay checks and don't waste it on a really bad product. For several years the A&T football and men's basketball product was really bad. I think last year proved that under Broadway, the football program will be much better. With the right marketing effort and a few early wins I think football attendance will reach record highs this year. It also helps to have 7 home games.
I think the men's basketball program will take some time to get momentum but it will come back too. It will just take Cy a few years to get it rolling. I'm also waiting to see what the women's basketball team does under the new coach.
I think us Aggies have some great games ahead of us and it will be fun to be a part of A&T sports now. We have a much better product, folks will find that out soon and they will show up for games.

To many positives for them not too i agree. i like labor day weekend as well and prefer we move the rivalry back to that date. its a holiday weekend, so a lot of out of town alums can make that game. plus, the stakes will be high because it would be a season opening conference game and because its the season opener, fans on both sides should be optimistic about the outlook of their team since both teams will be undefeated at that time...

If NCCU and A&T were both football powerhouses, I wouldn't have a problem with this being the final game of the year. However, that hasn't been the case. After you lose 5-6 games in a season, going into a rivalry game in November just doesn't mean as much. With the game being one of the first of the year, hope springs eternal (as what OSA mentioned previously). If not the first game of the year, it should be the second. As bad as Central was last year, I was pleasantly surprised to see how many of their fans came to the game at Aggie Stadium. They were a deflated bunch last year as year one with the Coach Frazier experiment didn't go as well as year one under the Coach Broadway experiment.
