These are all good discussions and some of the same issues our administrators are debating. Giving up our AQ is a big deal, especially if the Celebration Bowl goes defunct like all other HBCU bowl games after the six year run. Getting that AQ back won't be a slam dunk. You ain't never lied......and I've been thinking about this since the first day I heard the Celebration Bowl was gonna be a go......if the past predicts the future, don't count on this bowl lasting more than a few years. If smaller SWAC/MEAC schools are frequently in it, (ie. Alcorn vs Del St), they may pull the plug on the game at halftime. I just have a feeling this thing will flop and the FCS won't be enthusiastic for giving us back our automatic spot. With 15 years of MEAC ineptitude in the playoffs, could you really blame them?

Just read where the new Chancellor at WSSU wants to put A&T and Central back on the schedule. At least someone has some sense.

This is why I'm not worried about the autobid still being there if this bowl fails. And it very well may fail in a few years. We still have an at-large bid now, so that wont change if the Celebration bowl goes away.
If a team is good enough they will get in. Just beat a couple of PWC teams and your good to go. I think they will give it back anyway. No reason not to. Its one slot.

Don't have a problem with adding "RADDEGY RAMS" back on on schedule, as long as they know the "DEAL" All Games to be played in "AGGIE STADIUM" and if it is on a yearly basis, they will get a small percentage every other year, now NCCU on the other hand can't demand that type of "CONTRACT" as long as O'Kelly remains at a capacity of 10K-11K and Bowman Gray 17K AGGIE PRIDE!

Just playing devil's advocate........if there was an at-large bid this year (WITHOUT AN MEAC AQ), do you think the MEAC would have had any representative in the FCS playoffs this year? To recap the MEAC 2014 season - there was a 5-way tie for first place, with the conference champion (Morgan State) only having a 7-5 record. There were no significant OOC victories any MEAC team had this year (SCSU beat Furman, but they finished 3-9). When you look at everything that went down last year, I have an extremely difficult time believing the MEAC would have had a representative in the field last year if not for the AQ.

speaking of wssu, somebody must have kidnapped getupram cuz getup has gone completely "silent" in recent months. i guess ever since virginia state "pimp slapped" the rams and won the ciaa championship, getup has gone into hiding. and that's a good thing as far as i'm concerned...

On the actual original topic, I agree with the "they don't bring fans" point of view. I also agree with the "it's our job to fill the stadium" point of view.
It boils down to this: Elon loves the Aggies. Why? Because we probably generate more money for their athletic department than most of their boosters. We can't wait to go fill up their stadium. Meanwhile, in return we get....
Same thing with Coastal. Plus they get a great band performance out of it. We might as well cook and clean for them too.
The bottom line is that we help their bottom line. I'm not comfortable with that. I'd rather beat 'em on the scoreboard and take all the money.
That being typed, it is still our responsibility to fill our stadium and support our teams. Elon does it by inviting us to come chill out. We have to do it for ourselves because they simply aren't going to return the favor.

***Just and FYI***
Just spoke with the Elon Athletic department because their website was no help and no answer at the ticket office number, but individual game tickets wont go on sale until Sept 1st.
Kind of late in the game I would imagine but to each his own. Already have my alarm set to make the purchase.

Best to buy them on-line. I did that last year and it was a breeze, picked my seats in advance and walked right in no problem. Finding close parking is another story. Be prepared to walk some distance so get there early.
