Is this how we sign the contract because it don't make sense!!! Unless they are going to play us twice at home 2016/2017.

If I am not mistaken it was supposed to be a 4 yr deal where it was to be held as follows: 1. 2013 A&T 2. 2014 Elon 3. 2015 A&T 4. 2016 Elon
However Elon requested and we agreed to switch the last two meetings where it will be as follows: 1. 2013 A&T 2. 2014 Elon 3. 2015 Elon 4. 2016 A&T
So at the end of the day we still have 2 home and Elon still has 2 home games.

Originally it was to be "home and away "for four years. Elon had a chance to play an BCS game for big bucks and asked to reschedule the A&T game so they could get that guarantee game in on their schedule. They wanted to back out entirely at first. We agreed to a compromise to do a back to back at Elon with them coming to us in the first year and the last year. It also happened to open up an available date for us to play UNC for 300K this fall so no harm done.
Besides, we'll beat'em again this year and but this time it won't be close.

I don't like playing them at all. As previously been discussed on this board, Elon only bring a handful of people to Aggie Stadium and we carry half a stadium of fans down there.
I hope when this contract expires we quit playing them forever. They make bundles of money off of us and we make hardly nothing from them.

I would love to be in the situation where we can only sell their fans a hundred or so tickets when they come to Greensboro.

Decks and Rattler you both miss the point as last time this was discussed.

I agree with Decks and AggieRattler, who cares about how many fans they bring. It is our job to fill the stadium and buy season tickets.

It does matter that we fill our side and we do our best. However, we also want to make additional monies for our athletic programs.
We can't make money from Elon because they 'never' bring fans to our stadium in the history of our series.
I don't know the reason for their absences but it could be fright, prejudice or too good to come to a predominantly Black university.
You can talk all that crap you want to about it is our job to fill the stadium with visiting white schools. History has proven that they won't show to our stadium.
Coastal Carolina did not bring a bunch of fans to our stadium either.
All I am saying is that we go to their stadiums with thousands of fans and spend money that gives them profits for their athletic accounts.
They do not return the favor and won't as already been proven. So, why do we keep playing them.

There are a number of HBCU's that don't bring a lot of fans also . NCCU ,and SCSU probably bring the most fans ,but not many others . For all of their talk about being the only team in the MEAC that travels well FAMU never has packed the visitors side either . Should we not play those teams either ?

Decks and Rattler you both miss the point as last time this was discussed. I completely understand your point about VISITING FAN DISPARITY when playing in Greensboro vs. playing in Burlington...I get it. HOWEVER, it is still our responsibility to fill up Aggie Stadium with fans coming to see the Aggies play. First of all, there is no "visitors side" in Aggie Stadium. We have all three sides of Aggie Stadium, and the visitors have a little section carved out for them when they come. (When we go to Chapel Hill in September, we aren't going to have "a side" to sit on; we're going to have a section or two carved out for our fans to sit.) With that being the case, we should be aiming to fill up 80% of Aggie Stadium with AGGIE FANS. Like OLDSCHOOL said, there are a bunch of teams that don't bring a lot of fans to Aggie Stadium, not just Elon. But it's on us to fill up our stadium.

i don't think we should base who we play on how many fans they bring to aggie stadium. to me, other than fbs money games, who we play should be based on what's best for the development of our program. elon is right down the road, we save hotel and travel cost by playing them. plus, they're very good fcs competition for us which helps to improve our team.
personally, i don't really care if elon doesn't bring any fans to aggie stadium. i mean, even if they brought a thousand fans, it still wouldn't make a dent in our overall budget. to me, the reason we should play the likes of elon and coastal carolina is because it gives us a different look and we get to measure ourselves against what is normally a higher level of competition. whether they bring fans or not shouldn't matter...

If we can't fill our side of Aggie Stadium it's tough to complain about the visitor's side. The way we've played the past two years we should fill our stadium. I blame our under funded and under staffed athletic marketing department for our low attendance. All HBCU'S believe that "If you play it, they will come. " If we want to increase ticket revenue we have got to run game promotions. Die hard Aggies and HBCU football fans will show up no matter what but to fill our stadium for non-Homecoming games we've got to get the local casual fan to buy a ticket.
