As i said before, put him in the sports hall of fame. I'm not interested in naming the field after anyone unless they are responsible for building the stadium.

(When was the last time NCCU came to BDV?)
The game in 94' was first of Aggie-eagle in Raliegh. We beat them 48-0 at Aggie Stadium in 91' and 49-7 in Durham in 92'. Did not play in 93'.

Dooms,
I hear where you coming from. We just don't agree on merit. I don't we're being mean spirited. I've said, he definitely deserves to be in our Hall of Fame. I just don't feel with what he's accomplished while at A&T warrants the field being named after him. I would have liked to have seen more. Willie Jefferies did a lot for SC State and Howard. Have they named there stadium of field after him? I don't think so. I think you should raise the bar more.

Trust me, State will name the field after Jefferies. To me it's a combination of Hayes earning more than a Hall of Fame induction through merit and our owing him for the way he was unceremoniously thrown away. We do owe him for that.

I think there might just be too much bad blood between Hayes and our current athletic department leaders for this to happen anything in the near future.

I thought the bad blood was between Hayes and Renick. Renick's history. So's Charlie Davis. Nobody from the old regime is even left.
Of course it won't happen in the near future. But we won't be winning in the near future either. These things go hand in hand.

Interestingly, there is a TE from NCCU(transfer). He has to sit out a year. He's from Charlotte.

I agree about the unceremonious part. We do need to rectify that. You know Hayes ain't Jefferies either though.

Remember who Hayes beat out for the NCCU AD job. It wasn't just Scandrett.

Yeah, but I thought she was mad at Central, not him. And he ain't gots no reason to be mad at her.
Gator, Hayes ain't Jeffries. He ain't Robinson. He's Hayes and Hayes deserves something major from A&T to rectify the stupid and foolish way we dumped him. And even after that we still owe Small for the way we dropped him. I ain't saying name nothing after him. But we definitely need somebody to help rectify the academics of our athletes. Ain' that the area he works in now?
