Building a championship program is never easy. It’s even harder to try to remain on top. Next season, the North Carolina A&T women’s basketball team will again have a bull’s eye on their back as they look to defend their MEAC title and continue their growth as a legitimate mid-major power To do so, they will need every resource available, including the financial support of you – the loyal A&T basketball fans. To answer this call, we’ve recently created an permanent online donation campaign to make sure our ladies continue their reign atop the MEAC. www.active.com/donate/beatdowns_unlimitedMake an online donation now and you’ll allow several of our key players to enroll in summer school this June and gain an early start on next season’s title defense. With the help of the entire Aggie Nation, Coach Bibbs and company will again have a chance to cut down the nets in 2010. Aggie Pride!

What do they need funds for? They've dominated the league the last 2 years, made it to the tournament, and have a great class coming in. Is there anything specific they're trying to do?

The women's program is always in need of more resources. Especially if we are serious about wanting to become a legitimate mid-major power. Right now, I know Bibbs is also trying to keep some of the girls in Greensboro over the summer, similar to what Lee was attempting to do with the football team. This is an opportunity for fans of the program to step up to the plate and - as my good friend Wheeler Brown would say - show that Aggie Pride starts at the "hip and not the lip." www.active.com/donate/beatdowns_unlimited

BTW: Even if you send a check in the mail, we can still add your name and amount to the leader board.
No donation will go unnoticed.

I see that Jonathan Harmon just came through with a $100 donation. That's what Aggie Pride is all about. In just one weekend, we've been able to raise $2,000 for the Lady Aggie Basketball Fund. However, there's still a lot of work left to do. For all you diehard fans of Beatdowns Unlimited, this is your chance to have a major impact on the future success of the program. Don't let Bibbs down: www.active.com/donate/beatdowns_unlimited

All THE AGGIES ATHLETES programs are always in need of more resources. Why are we just singling out this program (woman BB) ?

The women's basketball program is not being singled out. They just have an immediate need that this campaign is attempting to support.
Hopefully, the university will be able to follow our lead and make it easier in the future for fans to donate to each specific program.

It’s true that all athletic programs could use additional funds, and it’s pure BS to say the Women's Program is not being singled out, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Nobody is taking the initiative to raise those needed funds, including the Athletic Department. It’s my opinion that the money raised by the “Maintain the Dynasty” campaign would go unrealized by the Athletic Department without this individual inventiveness. Plus, supposedly, there are other entities raising money for the athletic department. If this campaign reaches or exceeds the goal, then there should be he!! to pay for those so-called organized fundraising organizations, especially one in particular.
If there is anybody that’s wants to start raising money for the Men’s Tennis, or Golf, or Soccer, “have at it!”, that goes for all the other sports too.

This is not the first time fans on this site has rallied together to raise money for the athletic department. In 2007, we raised $3500 for the A&T football program's recruiting budget. Right now, the BDF is in the process of forming an official fundraising committee that will oversee our efforts and create innovative ways to bring in more dollars for the school. This campaign is no slight to any other funraising entities around A&T. We were just presented with a unique challenge late last week to help out Coach Bibbs and the Lady Aggies. And we are trying our best to meet that challenge. You can help our efforts by making a donation here: www.active.com/donate/beatdowns_unlimited
