Fans CAN donate to each specific program now ,anytime or any project by going thru the N C A&T foundation and designate where your funds are to be used. I am just saying that the LADY AGGIE BB FUND should find it's way thru the foundation with all names of the fund givers.

This is not the first time fans on this site has rallied together to raise money for the athletic department. In 2007, we raised $3500 for the A&T football program's recruiting budget. Right now, the BDF is in the process of forming an official fundraising committee that will oversee our efforts and create innovative ways to bring in more dollars for the school. This campaign is no slight to any other funraising entities around A&T. We were just presented with a unique challenge late last week to help out Coach Bibbs and the Lady Aggies. And we are trying our best to meet that challenge. You can help our efforts by making a donation here: www.active.com/donate/beatdowns_unlimitedI think it's OK to raise money for a single program as well. It's obvious and people know Thrilla has ties to the program and is absolutely in love with Bibbs' success. I will say this though. When the check was cut for football, everybody knew it was specifically for RECRUITING. For all we know, this money could be going towards Bibbs' manicure expense for next season. Nevertheless, it's his site and it's your money. Do with it what you please. I'm a conservative. lol

Just as we did with the football program in 2007, all of this money is being given directly to the athletic department. The software we are using provides a detailed fundraising report, listing every individual donor for this specific campaign. I have no problem sending the names of the donors through the university foundation, but of course I would have to get approval from those donors first before I do so. Trust me: I didn't just wake up one day last week and decide that I wanted the hassle of managing a new online donation campaign. That is a big administrative responsibility. However, it was relayed to me personally that Coach Bibbs and the Lady Aggies were in need of some immediate financial assistance. Therefore, I am trying to do everything in my power and I am asking for other diehard Aggie fans to do everything in their power to help. It might sound like hyperbole, but this is a rare chance for A&T fans to have a direct impact on their team's upcoming season. www.active.com/donate/beatdowns_unlimited

First of all, that is a pretty unfair accusation - even if it was a joke. Especially, coming from someone who claims to be a A&T fan himself and who celebrated all of the women's basketball program accomplishments this past season - along with many other fans on this site. To be honest Ahhbigboy, I expected to see your name appear on that donation page since you have always spoken highly of the women's basketball program and what they've been able to accomplish despite a meager budget. You've also voiced your frustration with some of the athletic department's bureaucracy, so I figured that you of all people would appreciate a grassroots effort launched by just some regular fans and alumni. As I stated previously, one the primary purposes of the campaign is to fund the summer school tuition of some our top players this year, similar to what Coach Lee attempted to do with his football program. We hope to raise the required amount in time for the second session which begins in mid June. However, we also would like to continue to support the program after this summer and help them with future recruiting needs and other important expenses. I would like to see a new culture of giving around here. BTW: Coach Bibbs is a hall of fame coach who has done nothing but bring succes, pride and honor to this university. When she asks for help, I feel motivated to do everything within my power. I don't see why any diehard A&T fan here would not want to help her program get even better: www.active.com/donate/beatdowns_unlimited

and i don't see why anyone, at all, would complain about any attempts to fundraise for "any" aggie cause whatsoever. and so what if a specific program is singled out. folks ought to be able to donate their own funds to whatever cause they chose...

As I posted earlier, my donation of $130 was made to the A&T Foundation on May 19, 2009 for summer school books for girls going to the first session of summer school. This was prior to Thrilla setting up a fund for summer school. I was personally contacted for money to help buy books and I was glad to do so. I don't believe it matters where you give to athletics as long as you contribute.

Both Aggie911 and aggiedog have been consistent donors to each of our online campaigns. These guys are always willing to help out the athletic department financially. The challenge is to find more fans like them who are willing to give more than just lip service. We really need to create a new culture of giving around here. www.active.com/donate/beatdowns_unlimited

Hey, I just checked the mail and found two more donations: one in the amount of $150 from a donor who requested to be anonymous and another from Angela Eaddy in the amount of $100. Folks, thank you so much for your help. We are slowly chipping away at our goal and creating a new culture of giving among A&T fans. Please join our effort and make you own donation now: www.active.com/donate/beatdowns_unlimited

hate to intrude on a basketball post. however the track has to fly 4 kids out to Arkansas for NCAA Championship why can't we help them out. Basketball isn't the only sport that needs money.

Aggie Paul, that is good information. And since you brought it up, I would like for you to follow through and create a separate fundraiser to assist the track program.
When you do, please inform us how we can all help.
