[Bibbs has. That's good enough for me.]... I am not saying she can not play, my question centers on the discussion that she will be an All star as a fr which seems to be based on no one in this discussion seeing her play.

Reisha Bullock was rated the #17 player in America by at least one recruiting publication in her senior year in HS. JALEESA SAMS WAS RATED #97 IN THE NATION ...WHILE GOOD PLAYERS NEITHER HAS SHOWN THE ABILITY TO TEAR UP THE meac if Bland and T-J were not on the team. No!!! national publications have Calvin rated that high. All state teams are a lot about who wins, not about the best prospects. But if would be nice if she is all that because AB and TJ are taking a lot of points with them.

But if would be nice if she is all that because AB and TJ are taking a lot of points with them. first of all numberonebrave, recruiting publications are some of the most “inaccurate” assessments of talent you can find anywhere. nic simpson was rated 2 stars by rivals.com, does he look like a 2 star baller to you? secondly, were sams or bullock selected “all state” as sophomores and did they win high school state championships at the highest level? i don’t think so. thirdly, sams made the all freshman team last year. I wouldn’t exactly consider that underachieving. but this year she’s been riddled with injuries and family issues. something like that can easily diminish a player’s performance. regarding bullock, she hasn’t even played a full season on our team. the jury is still out on her. show me where sams and bullock accomplished what calvin accomplished as a sophomore. when you can do that, then it will be apples compared to apples. but right now, you’re comparing apples to oranges…

Have you seen her play? Is she the same player she was? You base your assessement on who made All State team before a major knee injury and tell me that is better than the recruiting publications. Fine...I am done. ..I said Sams did not tear up the league not that she underachieved (show me where sams and bullock accomplished what calvin accomplished as a sophomore. when you can do that, then it will be apples compared to apples. but right now, you’re comparing apples to oranges)…Yes before and after a major knee injury...But hey, I want her to be everything you say she will be...HBCU's need some stars and AB and BTJ have to be replaced just as Suber and Oakley were...

there's no guarantee any athlete will storm thru the conference, no matter what their credentials are. but calvin seemingly hasn't missed a beat after sitting out a year with an acl injury. if she completes this season injury free, i don't think her acl will be an issue at all in college. and "normally" acl surgeries, if performed and rehabbed properly, strengthens the previously injured knee moreso than it was prior to the injury.
again, i have not seen calvin play. but she's already had a 39 point game this season and she consistently scores 20 or more points per game. so yes, i'd say she's not only the same player she was, she even better. again, the 3 things that convinces me she'll be a stud are #1 - "all state" as a "sophomore" at the 4A level, #2 - she averaged nearly 20 ppg as a sophomore "at the 4A level", and #3 - she won a "state championship" as a sophomore at the 4A level. notice all three things end with "as a sophomore at the 4A level". that's what does it for me.
and you're right about us having to replace bland and taylor-james like coppin had to replace suber and oakley. but the difference is that coppin couldn't replace suber and oakley's scoring. but we can replace (or make up for) bland and taylor-james' scoring. and we don't have to rely on next year's recruits to do it, we've got scorers already on the team who can do that. mainly tweet cook, reisha bullock, and a "healthy" jaleesa sams.
look, i can honestly say we're freakin' loaded! there'll be zero pressure on next year's recruits to carry a load. i've said it before and i'll say it again, our women's team is built to win for many years to come. if we didn't bring in a single recruit next year, we'd still be in running to win an meac championship. yet, next year's recruiting class is the best we've ever had in my opinion.
yes, we're gonna miss bland and taylor-james next year. but trust me, the beat will go on...

numberonebrave,
I am going have to quote ahhbigboy "Wakeup". She was out her junior season so what news was there to be reported concerning Amber Calvin other than she is rehabing a knee. And correct me if I am wrong but the NC highschool basketball season has not ended.
Wakeup!!
