lol, actually, if Swinton were here, we still wouldn't be OK. Eaves would have him 20 feet away from the basket, standing next to Coleman trying to hand it off to a little guard. lol I heard you though Professor (here and the other topic as well) and I guess you can tell I'm not answering anything about Swinton. To be honest, I can't stand to hear anyone affiliated with the MEAC talk bad about his talent. Plus, I'm pretty sure some of your people on the top secret "private" board knows. Give it a couple of weeks...you won't have to go far to find him. You'll get to know him real well.
Eaves should have been on his front lawn with a tent and a weeks supply worth of food trying to get him. I guess he's not worthy because he didn't sign early.

Thrilla, it is easier to explain how I can be fooled by a coach who has "W's" behind his name and a conference final four. It is a lot harder for you to explain your disdain for those wins while you can't muster a hint of disdain for someone with no "W's" and will go as far as carry his lunch pail if he lets you.

I honestly don't know what you are talking about right now. Who is the person with the lunch pail in that scenario? Fobbs?
When did I ever try to defend two back-to-back winless seasons? I'm as disappointed as everyone else.
Or, were you referring to my sick love affair with Patricia Cage-Bibbs. If that's the case, consider yourself banned. Nobody talks bad about Bibbs.

You know Bibbs has "W's" plus she doesn't have a lunch pail. She's too classy for that, her meals are prepared on the spot.

I don't think Coach Eaves is a fraud, but this season is not what was expected. Until someone can show me a better coach for the same money what's the point. For those of you that think we have settled for mediocrity, you are right, but it was long before Coach Eaves and it’s not the Administration's fault. It's many of us $2 fans that "give-back" nothing to the University, in time, money, or services, etc.
I met this dude this week. Dude came up me with his "Aggie Pride" smile. I run into people all the time with Aggie Pride smile, but went elsewhere, but a friend or family went to A&T. This dude was clad-down in Texas gear (hat , shirt) so I figured he was a Longhorn. Dude was Class of 83. He tells me how pitiful A&T is in sports and in the next breath about the good times he had at A&T. This is the problem, not with the coaching staffs, the players, nor the Administration. Its the mentality of the Alums.
Though I listen to talk about Coach Eaves being a fraud, Coach Fobbs being overpaid, and the former AD being stupid, the real issue is we collectively don't really care.

Well stated Aggie 77...Ex players come to your games in other schools gear. Ask a person what their favorite team is and they will start naming ACC teams...Heck, even all the students in the Dawg Pound do not wear Gold...Ex players seem to think they should get in games free, do not join the Aggie club or alumni association. Often give the excuse that Hayes or someone treated me poorly. They graduated from A&T not the individual in question. It is not how much you give, but you can give something

Anytime he faces an above average team with a decent head coach he gets absolutely exposed. His game plan and player rotation have no rhyme or reason. I swear if you look at him on the bench he looks utterly lost out there. Why he continues to give 12 different players equal minutes is beyond me. Why he refuses to diagram plays to get open shots for his best shooter is beyond me also. Why he even lets Jason Wills touch the court is the mystery of all mysteries. I think the man is in over his head as a Division I head coach. man thrilla...sounds like dee todd reincarnated....

if you really look in depth into mens bball the deterioration started when the administation for whatever reason ( stupidity) decided not to support corbett... bball was back at an all time high... & corbett had gotten the athletic department out of the red & into the black... all you can ask is who in their right minds decided not listen to corbett & keep bball progressing... ? caple followed corbett & he saw that a&t wasn't serious about bball so he bolted at the 1st opportunity.... thomas was a good coach who had won a juco title... but he got no support from the big brass.... some of you don't like hunter but the only thing wrong with hunter was ... not enough seasoning for the job & a&t politics... one thing i have to give to hunter is that he went out & raised $40,000 for his program... & when he went to his account to use the money the univ. had taken it away... &... did not put the money back into his bball account... now if that want turn a man sour... now we have eaves... new coach but same predicament as corbett... 1st yr. only had 4 scholarships... 2nd yr. was given 4 more... & the program has improved each yr... & not to mention the financial boost mens bball gives the athletic dept..... am i disappointed in the play of our senior led team... absolutely... because i was expecting us to pick right up from where we left off from last yr... but for those who have ever coached i realize there are times when you wished you had a degree in psychology instead of something else... i also realize there is a financial side of the story... & one that's not being told is...we have a mens bball program that pays for 85-90% of it's budget... a&t puts very little in mens bball... the one question i have is when will administration get serious about bball like it has about fball... ?.... i mean how much did app st. get for winning the I-AA football championship... but the ncaa march madness payout is huge...!!!!!!!!.... & cbs pays a ton of money to broadcast it... now i'm not that smart... but i do look at the #'s...

Often give the excuse that Hayes or someone treated me poorly. They graduated from A&T not the individual in question. It is not how much you give, but you can give something Whoa, whoa, whoa. Until you have the head coach stop at a service station after a game in Baltimore, mad because we lost, and tell us that our post game meal is a bag of chips and a soda (for a 5-hour ride mind you)...please don't talk about ex-players (pre-game was McDonalds, no super-size no malts). Until you have the head coach tell your girl not to give you anymore (figure it out), because you missed 4 free throws the night before, please don't talk about the ex-players. Until you have a coach that knows a teammate is troubled in life and he pretty much gives him the middle finger...and that teammate ends up dead, please don't talk about the ex-players (RIP Jalani Dukes). Until you see the head coach tell a teammate that because his girlfriend is a model, he won't have a scholarship because she can pay for his school, please don't talk about the ex-players (the bad part was, that guy was from Switzerland and didn't know anyone else here). All I'm saying is this, what school do you know of where the ex-players don't get in free? All these stories are true, ask anyone who played in Corbett for Homey the clown and Randall Cunningham. Some of these b-ball coaches scarred many players for life. For what it's worth, I don't think Eaves is anything like those clowns.

I'm not sure I understand this ex-player rant, but it would seem to me that ex-players would have greater interest in the program's success than regular alums. But my experience is their contribution appears to be less than non-athletic scholarship alums.
Now it's storytime: One ex-player came to the Aggie Club with a request for money to complete his degree. The Aggie Club (and members out of their pocket) came up with the money. Guess what, ex-player ain't been seen since. But I understand ex-player got his degree and that's a good thing. And I willing to bet that Aggie Club members would vote to do it again under similar circumstances to come up with the money. I’m also willing to bet at other schools ex-players don't just show up on game day.
Back to the issue: I guess the bus driver was responsible the second half adjustments on the road in a hostile emotional environment. Or was it The Fraud, or was it that the players just made shots (FG .582, 3pt .389). Though this team is in the race they make to many turnovers and shoots too poorly from the line and their defensive numbers are down from previous years to really be considered a contender, but I'm hopeful.

Call it a rant, but I'm trying to give you some insight on how some of the guys think. It's like slapping your wife in front of the kids and then asking her to go to the movies with you.
Many of the ex-bball players I know would never even step foot back into Corbett, let alone give anything back. It's alot that goes on behind the scenes is all I'm saying. And as I alluded to before, I don't think Eaves or Keyes are built like that. For me, I'd keep them around for that alone, forget the wins. That's how deep it is. Those coaches and admin didn't care. The graduation rate alone speaks for that.
Good win for Eaves and the crew yesterday. Why do we have so many coaches? What is the role of all of these guys.

First, I ain't talked bad about the kids talent. I think he can play ball. I just pick on the "Dudley Superstars" because they have trouble making it. However he seemed to have under achieved at Wake. ( Plus the other dumb stuff he did). Then, A&T was suppose to kiss his a@@ after he couldn't compete in the ACC. Then he went to UNCW and messed up again. I'm glad to hear he got into someone's school and maybe his 3rd chance will be the one he needs. If he ever comes to Corbett, I will have a sign for him
