He showed a nice jumper and decent spin & pop move, and soft shots from the free-throw line plus he wants the ball. I don't know why this coach doesn't demand that he get the ball more. The biggest knock in this game was for a guy his size he plays small. If CJ Williams is NCSU's best recruit Sidney Lowe better resign now, I'm unimpressed with his offense or defense, but he is obviously the leader of this team. I don’t see how he averaged 20+ points a game last year.

Lowe may be already be on th hotseat after losing to ECU over the weekend (the worst team in allof D-I, in the state, excluding NCCU).
Big men in basketball are like linemen in football. It takes a year, maybe two for them to adjust and develop. Big men straight out of high school who warrant NBA status or something close to that as freasmen are a rarity.
As long as a big kid has hands that can catch the ball and feet that can move on defense and he can get off the floor, the rest can be taught by a good coach. Craft has the motor skills and fits that build.
Y'all remember Steve Bunn, only 6-5 at center, but could outplay and outrebound nearly every big man he faced for the one season he was here. He had been schooled properly on playing the pivot and how to use his body and "brain" to dominate bigger folk.

You mean Joe Bunn. I knew he was gone when we played Arkansas in the big dance and all the announcers kept saying was "what's he doing at that school?" Then Capel took him to ODU and two years later he was kicked out for assaulting his girlfriend.
A sad story. Wish he could've at least come back to finish up at T.

By Capel's last year at ODU, I was one of the few friends he had in the area along with a few other Aggies. Capel is a quiet man in public and lot people at A&T and ODU mistook it as he being standoff-ish. Bunn ended up at NAIA school after he left ODU. The female judge in Norfolk was really harsh on Bunn in the sentence phase. Bunn was in one of those back-and-forth shouting match that including "leave-don't leave-now leave" situation. According to the report, Rivers (the former girlfriend) was treated at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital ``for a split lip, contusions to the head and facial area, bruises to the arms and a possible torn ligament in the right thumb.''

That sucks. I didn't think he was the type to lay hands on a chic. He was real cool in school. Do you know what school he went to?
As for Capel, I made fun of my pop when he left FSU for A&T and said "this was my dream job." My pop said "if he did it to us he'll do it to you." My pop is a wise man.
We used to call him "cottonmouth" 'cause he was always eating that d@mn towel.

Eaves recruited a similar player in my area but the kid was in the 10th grade. He improved greatly in the following years and ODU jumped on him after his junior year. Lucky for them they were able to hold on to him and have him sit out last year. Now he is ODU sixth or seventh man with another freshman Coach Eaves tried to recruit here. I would guess that Craft is a good candidate for a redshirt year.

I am not sure but it may have been Phillips University out of Oklahoma. Joe now plays professionally in Europe on a French team.

Treese thanks for the correction. Lowe better get his act together because he's starting to look like Matt Doherty.

www.fayobserver.com/article?id=280278Britt cruises past South ViewBy Jaclyn Shambaugh Correspondent Boasting a distinct height and depth advantage, Jack Britt burst into Morris Gym on Tuesday night to rout host South View in a 69-42 victory. The Bucs improved to 6-2, while the Tigers drop to 5-3. Snow helped jump start the offense, scoring eight of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter. He finished the night with four 3-pointers. Snow leads Cumberland County with 20 3-pointers. What Snow could not accomplish from beyond the arc, senior big men Louis Craft and Gemal Minick handled inside the paint. Craft finished the night with 13 points, and Minick added 12. “Everybody just wanted to take the first shot that was available,” Craft said. “If it wasn’t there, we moved the ball until it was available.”
