He's well on his way from what I've seen of them in the two home games we've played so far. Like Bibbs, it appears he's not having a problem finding quality kids, both on and off the court who want to come here that can play and that will graduate.

Eaves is gonna have to step it up if he wants to compete with Bozeman & Nicklebury. This Craft kid is 6-10 and only averaged 3.3 rebounds per game?

Eaves isn't having trouble finding quality kids to play because this is a quality university. There is an abundance of kids that would jump at the opportunity to be on this campus. Is BDF going to start the campain to make a donation to the basketball program?

The question will be are these kids academicly eligible? Remember, the coaches have been charged with graduating student athletes. This will have an effect on recruiting.

They're all eligible. All are honor students (including the JUCO) with a 3.4 or better on their GPAs.

Britt basketball star signs with N.C. State
By Earl Vaughan Jr. Scholastic sports editor ADVERTISEMENT Williams The wait is finally over for Jack Britt’s C.J. Williams. Now he’s officially the recruiting property of N.C. State’s basketball program.
Williams, who had committed to play for the Wolfpack last November, completed the promise Wednesday as he signed a national letter-of-intent confirming his choice.
“It’s a great feeling to just get the burden off you of people asking if you’re going to stay with State,’’ he said. “I feel more at home now.’’
Williams said he had no concerns the Wolfpack would recruit too many players at his position when he committed to them so early.
“Coach (Sidney) Lowe is a man of his word,’’ Williams said.
Williams said knowing he’s signed will take a lot of pressure off him during his senior year at Jack Britt.
“If I were unsigned, I’d feel I had to go out and prove myself to college coaches,’’ he said.
Williams led Cumberland County in scoring last year with 24.2 points per game. He hit 39 3-point shots and was second in rebounding with 9.5 per game.
He could play either guard or small forward for the Wolfpack. He said Lowe told him during his in-home visit he might play some point guard.
Williams was one of a number of Cumberland County athletes who signed letters Wednesday.
Others plan to make their commitments official today.
Louis Craft, Williams’ teammate at Jack Britt, also signed a national letter Wednesday to attend North Carolina A&T. Craft, a 6-foot-8 senior, averaged 3.3 rebounds per game for Britt last season. South View’s Manny Beltran signed to play baseball for North Carolina A&T. Beltran had three doubles and a homer for the Tigers last season. He scored 20 runs and drove in five. Jack Britt High School had a pair of baseball players signing, Austin Sandy and James McKnight. Sandy signed with UNC-Wilmington and McKnight with North Carolina A&T. Sandy batted .333 for the Buccaneers with one double and 15 RBI’s. Sandy was a first team All-Mid-Southeastern 4-A Conference selection. McKnight was 1-1 as a pitcher with an earned run average of 3.89. He struck out 15 batters. Village Christian Academy will have two players signing today, but one won’t be going with the school she previously had chosen. Village athletic director Harold Morrison Jr. said basketball standout Tawatha Tucker will not follow through on a prior commitment to Old Dominion and will instead sign with South Florida. Tucker, a 6-2 senior, averaged 18.5 points and nine rebounds per game last season. Morrison said Tyree Graham is expected to sign with Texas Tech as previously announced. Graham, who arrived at Village Christian this season, had already turned down scholarship offers from South Carolina, Baylor, Kansas State, East Carolina and UNC-Wilmington.

I went to the Jack Britt/Terry Sanford game last night. Mr. Louis Craft, is a decent player and is bigger than the picture posted. He must have hit the weighs during the off-season. I would guess he’s about 6-9, 210. The good news is he’s an athlete. The bad news is he not yet a basketball player.
He seems to be a coachable kid. Though I haven’t seen the new and improved Porter, this guy is probably better right now, but not stronger. He runs the court well, has decent footwork and is in basketball shape. Needs better defensive and rebounding positioning. He a back to the basket player, which would be more affective if the guards on this team understood the entry-pass concept. They must have had 20 turnovers in their half-court set. H didn’t gets many shots last night and probably won’t in this offense which the guards dominate. I don’t know which dude was C.J. Williams, but I didn’t see any ACC starters.

He's all upside, and it's all positive, but probably as a role player. He had least 2 pts, about 5 or 6 rbs, and about one block, but he changed a few shots. I only saw him take one shot that he made. But again the offense he plays in doesn't cater to his game or position. He's not going to have big numbers, but his rbs stats should be better. I will try to see a couple more games.

We lose to many players after this season to be signing "projects". We'll need some kids that can contribute right away.
If that kid was any good the coaches would demand that he gets the ball.

I totally agree. Just think about this for one second. What players have you seen come through the MEAC in the last 10-15 years, that were 6'8" or taller, that were worth a damn? Your list will be very, very short. I can't get past these..... Jerome James Tequin Mott (more like 6'6" but good enough to be on the list) Tarvis Williams Average, even half-way-decent big men get scooped up by the big boys. There is no reason for any excitement over Porter.

Craft scored 8 with a couple of dunks according to this article. He’s still very young. I think he has much potential and could be a solid contributor by his junior year at A&T. www.fayobserver.com/article?id=279639Jack Britt’s Louis Craft blocks a shot by E.E. Smith’s Naquan Melv
