Ok got it, so to your point if we have dudes in a few areas that were inherited that were balling just imagine what the team will look like when we get a full recruiting cycle. Remember college doesn't have preseason football, unfortunately the coaching staff is having to correct week to week. If that is the case "having to correct week to week " then where is HOOKER ? After two displays by two veterans. Why haven't the third veteran been activated to the field ? That is my question . And don't say he's not good enough because if the first two games are indicators of how good we are at quarterback , he can't be any worse 😆 Well, coach said they assess by how people look in practice. He must not be a practice player. That being typed, we've had a few guys that were really good in the lights but not great at practice and vice-versa over the years. I'd trot him out there. |

I am very patient but I am not patient for the display that our 3 quarterbacks have shown. Especially when you have a veteran in the wings in Hooker, put the young man in the game because he can't be any worse than Yeager or Eli . Especially if you're going to save the red shirt for white.
But I am patient for the team because Coach Brown did not inherit much and only had time to recruit a few players so I can live with that but I can't live with the quarterback situation.

Yo Monster ,I'm one of those "be patient" guys and I wholeheartedly understand the fact that we have a serious problem ,ineffective QB play, inferior O-line pass blocking ,so on and so on .But I'm dead azz serious ,what are we supposed to do at this juncture ,start firing folk ,start letting players go ,I mean what else can we realistically do but be patient and pray that the staff can coach the players up that we do have . The bottom line is we don't have the dogs we used to have ,for whatever reasons . We've got 2 good running backs ,1 good return guy,good kickers punter and field goal,a couples of guys on the defense ,no WR with Caldwell and Warren out ,Cooke's hands are made of stone ,lol. We're used to having dogs all over the field , and a experienced QB under center ,but it just ain't so this year .So imma do like my guy Trues and his E&J ,only imma do it with Henny VSOP and dat OG Kush ,lol. You can stop telling others to be patient. Loud people have a purpose. They make noise, they motivate. They turn heads. Sitting back and being patient is what got us one of the longest losing streaks in history. Nah... That was different. We were in two different spots as we had an admin that barely funded A&T to compete on the D1 level back then. That ultimately led to multiple aggies passing away in 2008 and 2010. Now... We're increasing funding for athletics, albeit more slowly than some would like. We just have a talent issue. We gotta allow the program time to build this program to compete in the CAA for conference titles. That's going to be a long process. Just look at all the other schools that joined the CAA in the past 10-12 years. |

We lost. We've lost before. We'll lose again. I know our team is young with many being lost to the portal. Our staff is new. Our conference is new. I've heard and known all of this.... .....guys, we have amassed 67 yards of passing offense......IN TWO GAMES!! Not 67 passing yards over 2 minutes....or 2 quarters.......IN TWO ENTIRE GAMES!! This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SUBSTANDARD. That is so "so-low-on-the-bell-curve" low that it can't be justified. How can this staff look at any of us with a straight face and tell us they have done a good job coaching up the offense for the first 2 games of the season. Young players.....not athletic enough players......losing players to the portal.....DAMN ALL OF THAT! 67 YARDS OF PASSING IN 2 GAMES. That's unacceptable Coach Brown. That's unacceptable Chris Young. Aggie Nation needs to let these dudes know that this kind of God-awful play will not be accepted in year 1, year 2, year 3 and beyond (if they're fortunate enough to be here that long). There's absolutely no excuse for production this paltry - ZERO. We got a new OC, 4 QBs with barely any experience, and a WR room whose two most experienced WRs are not playing. That's on top of Z. Leslie graduating and Burkhalter transferring to Cincinnati. And also, our defense is a BIGGER dumpster fire right now than the passing game, and that's saying a alot. |

Actually Cuzo I know that can happen first hand . Had a kid we called Smoke for his T&F speed and long jump . Smoke couldn't catch a cold in practice 🤧 but but could return the H out of puts and kickoffs, but in the games it was show time . His name is Marquise Goodwin Olympian Long Jumper and NFL receiver. When Smoke got to Texas his receiving skills improved. That's why I'm pushing for Hooker . Because sometimes Coaches miss things because and individuals don't look the part just saying . I'm with you put Hooker on the field and let the cards fall where they may . |

I don't know what everyone saw in that Brickhandler kid, but I could tell after 2 series, he aint it. Maybe in a year or two but definitely not this year. Yager is the same QB he was last year (one read & run). At this point they might as well give lil' Hook a shot or, unless they are trying to redshirt him, roll with the freshman and let him take his lumps.

Ok, so if the coaches have not tried Hooker yet don't you think they've seen something that doesn't translate well to the game. If you throw Hooker out there with the same receiving corp against these last two opponents I don't think much would be different. I'm not down with participation trophies at this level, even if he is a legacy, you still have to earn it in practice. |

Obviously coaches haven't seen anything that warrants him playing time... |

Hopefully, with Caldwell and Warren playing this week (hopefully), our passing game will look more like a D1/FCS passing offense. We're going to need it because Elon is going to put up some points!

Anyone in here have a solution for this season thats realistic since we're not going to utilize that patience thing? There have been many proposed solutions on fixing our problems that Coach Brown has not thought of or tried either at practice or the game (facetious).  Folks are too disappointed right now to accept the truth that patience is needed in giving Coach Brown and staff time to correct the PROBLEMS with the team if possible. My previous post must have been too long to read (I have a habit of doing that at times  ) to give people hope that the season is not lost yet. |

This is not the same Eli from last season before injury. But it is the same Yeager before and after injury. Say what you like Hooker should get his shot because two games into the season, in those two games the same mistakes were made. One game I can see but two back to back Come on now Mac you would have put that Apollo hook on both of them and you know this . Give the kid a shot it can't be any worse unless you going to play the freshman and fourth of his red shirt. |

Next man up and go from there . Why is HOOKER not listed on the depth chart ? Eli , Yeager and White are the only ones listed on the site . He is on the roster but not listed on the depth chart what gives |

We tend to decouple the coaches and players when we look for problems and/or solutions. Maybe it is both. I hate to keep bringing up Boise State, but they made an OC and QB change after game 4 that lead to a successful year for the team. They benched a 3 year veteran QB for a redshirt freshman. For those looking to get Hooker into the game, maybe you need to have an OC change for that to happen. You don't have to fire the OC, but maybe Coach Brown may need to think about calling the plays (Dallas Cowboys HC) and consider a different QB to start. This is assuming the OC is calling the plays. If the HC is calling the plays then maybe we may need to let the OC call the plays. Again, none of this was tried by Boise State until after the 4th game, so patience is still needed in my opinion.
