I still don't see the concern with proximate . How many incidents over the years have there been incidents of player proximate being an issue that resulted in physical altercation between the teams when double headers have been played . I'm waiting Do you have information on whether security was increased by A&T after the 1st or 2nd incident thus reducing any further incidents. We learn from our mistakes. As soon as a major incident happens the 1st thing people ask is where was security. With more people you add security accordingly. Ex. January 6th insurrection. Don't take chances in creating a media nightmare. Read my statement not into it ok . "How many incidents over the years have there been incidents of player proximate being an issue that resulted in physical altercation between the teams when double headers have been played," Again how many incidents have there been over the years period.

I'm waiting So, is any number OK? I would go for zero. If we can prevent two teams from being in the same space, why wouldn't that be the preferred option. You know like I know trash talking starts as soon as seen. As stated earlier, there have been some incidents. I know there have but I'm speaking from standalone games when I was there in the early '70s not doubleheader's . I don't know how A&T spaces the women and men's games . But at WT they were spaced at least 2 or 3 hours apart or women in the afternoon and men in the evening . Now if your talking about locker room locations and proximities for the teams yes I agree with you . But this is about doubleheaders vs standalone games. If the times between games are managed properly there should not be any security personnel issues. Now the locker rooms location is an entirely different conversation .

I believe I interpreted your post correctly. This is why I asked my question. What if there was only 1 such player-player altercation at a double header game that happened 5 years ago and due to this altercation A&T increased security by 5 people every double header game around the locker rooms since then. Then A&T has been paying for more security at double header games compared to separate games for 5 years to keep players altercation low. We the public has been unaware of this. Considering my above hypothetical, so what good is it to present an answer to your question without providing an answer to my question. In either case the data is incomplete in answering whether increased security is needed when you have double headers to reduce altercations. If the answer is yes then it maybe a beneficial factor to prefer separate games over double headers due to reduced altercation and less security around problematic areas resulting in less overall cost. I hope I did not misread your statements.

I hope I did not misread your statements. You did but it's all good . Do not think that I do not understand what you're saying because I do . Preventive message should always be taken when it pertains to security for both fans and athletes. My question was how many times has it happened in the doubleheader games era . Women and Men's Doubleheader's are about time spacing..i.e Women afternoon, Men evening . The security teams should be the same for both . Now if you have both opposing teams female and male located in the same locker room and hallway locations entering and existing common sense would tell you that somewhere down the line there may well be an altercation but even that can be prepared for with proper spacing between competitions . The security teams should not change . That why I asked how many times have incidents happened with the doubleheader platform because it is evident that so security changes have been made .

The tournaments will be held at different times also. The men's tournament begins on a Friday in DC. The women begin the following Wednesday in Baltimore.

Now imagine them both going down the same hallway… that's a logistics issue that if serious enough, a&t should've solved with or without doubleheaders. maybe even think out of the box for a solution such as "maybe" building a climate controlled passageway connecting corbett center to moore gym since they're both in very close proximity to each other. that way, you could designate the visitors locker rooms in moore gym rather than corbett. just a thought...

I still dont understand how this issue exists only in double header games and not standalone games?
Why not just separate the opposing teams the same way each time?

i don't see how standalone games solves the problem either unless the women's locker room is significantly separated from the men's locker room whereby the visiting team can use the women's locker room for men's games and vice versa for women's games...

Because the women are occupying those rooms.

Why not just put the A&T men & women on one side of the gym and the opponent men and women on the other side?
Everybody comes out on separate sides of the arena.
What am I missing here?

This is when I get to the point of the conversation where I say “Because I said so” 😀
This is a Hilton/facilities question. Are there two nice sized locker rooms on opposite sides and then two classroom areas?
If it were a simple solution, someone would’ve made the adjustments.
