Kinda surprised we are his only D1 offer. He has very high motor and plays like a true 5. Impressed that he dunks consistently instead just laying the ball in Possible late bloomer? Looks like he took a pretty big leap from his junior year to his senior year. Probably haven't tapped into half of his potential. If we can hold on to him he could become a special player. And he might not be done "blooming." He could be a tremendous find, like you say!

Impressed that he dunks consistently instead just laying the ball in Brayden Smith style of play (true 5) as you stated, late development, and lack of height is probably what kept high-major colleges away similar to Steph Curry lack of height before he experience a growth spurt in college. He may do well at the mid-major level depending on how he is used by Coach Ross and developed.

Below info does not consider signed transfers and only players 6'8" or taller, no matter their weight. For this post only, I will make the assumption that they are post players. 2006-07: Signed no Bigs ; 5-26 2007-08: Signed no Bigs ; 14-17 2008-09: one 6'9" Big ; 13-19 2009-10: one 6'8" Big ; 7-24 2010-11: Signed no Bigs ; 14-17 2011-12: Signed no Bigs ; 18-14 2012-13: one 6'9" Big ; 19-14 2013-14: one 6'9" Big ; 25-10 2014-15: one 6'8" and one 6'9" Bigs ; 10-20 2015-16: Signed no Bigs ; 7-23 This additional information has increased my knowledge of Coach Ross's recruiting abilities and coaching, but it is not enough to raise my confidence that he will successfully recruit Big/Bigs that meets A&T's needs "this season". . . I think this look back may be spot on about Ross's recruiting strategy. At this point it doesn't appear he's going after players over 6'9". Thanks, but my info is incomplete because I did not look into his signing of transfers which the rules were different back then. Just trying to be fair since Ross has not share his detailed overall coaching strategy which would contain his recruiting philosophy.

Ross found a replacement for Demetric Horton in the person of Uchenna Kellman, a first team All-State 6-5 wing from Altamonte Springs, FL and starred with 2023 state champion TMS Academy. Completed his prep career at Lyman HS in 2022 before transferring to TMS Post Grad. Averaged 15.2 ppg, 6 rebs. at Lyman. Originally committed to LIU before decommitting two weeks ago. Had offers from Tarleton State, Duquesne, and LIU. 6’5 ’23 Uchenna Kellman (Speights Academy) Scouting Report: phenomhoopreport.com/player-standouts-at-phenom-post-grad-nationals-2/"Although it would be easy to select various different standouts from this contest, Kellman earns recognition due to his smooth, polished identity. He’s smart, skilled, and able to make an impact with or without the ball in his hands. Kellman is a notable shooter, both from midrange and beyond the arc, who can create for himself or others. He moves well without the ball, makes the extra pass, and consistently capitalizes within the flow of the action."

I’m as excited about the basketball seasons (if not more so) as I am about the upcoming football season.

2022 Senior Highlights from Lyman HS: www.hudl.com/profile/12236474/Uchenna-KellmanNicholesi like this guy, appears to be a very good shooter and a good defender. i just wish he was a bit older with more college experience. but he's an excellent high school recruit, hopefully he'll stick around when (not "if") he develops into a major scoring threat by his sophomore/junior seasons. coach has a very good high school recruiting class. not sure how many of them will make major contributions as "true freshmen". but if he can keep this freshman class together over the long term, it'll pay off big time in years 2 and 3...

Ashley-Emory played at Garden City Community College (JUCO) where he was all-conference and all-region last year. He averaged 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. He shot 50% from the field and 76% from the line.
Played AAU ball for Team Baxter…Was a two-time, first-team all-region selection and two-time, second-team All-State player
From the Garden City CC media guide-
"Coach Nee on Ashley: He is an athletic, scoring guard, who can really defend. Normally, your best defender is one of your best offensive players, so that shows the value Naj brings to the table. He had great success in the Atlanta area in high school."

i watched this dude's video and he can flatout "ball". hail, he's got more "scoop shots" than george gervin himself. very smooth scoring guard, should have impact "immediately"...

ok, the verdict is in on his video. glasper can flatout "ball"! not as quick as woods was, but pretty much just as good of a scorer and appears to be "taller" than woods. very good pickup.
this year's team won't look "anything" like last year's team. we're very "young", but coach definitely has some talent to work with. i don't expect "magic" from our team this season, but next season will be a totally different story assuming we'll keep this young talent together.
coach had me worried with his early signings, but he has subsequently complemented those early signings with some very good scoring talent which is what we needed. i'm actually anxious to see these guys play...
