Interesting. They gonna teach a class or 2 in that film room to justify it as a "classroom building "

You guys need to stop discounting anybody who may voice concerns about the direction A&T is currently headed. John Davis is a former player who has personal contacts and experiences that extend way beyond the football field. His perspective on this subject matter should be appreciated. Nah. John misses the YUGE point that what's happening at JSU is about Deion as opposed to JSU itself. And I'm gonna venture to say that the facilities they've gotten under Deion are FAR from "World Class".

Doesn't matter who or what was the catalyst. What Davis is saying is that A&T should have been able to parlay 4 HBCU National Titles into more than it currently has.
Like many others, he doesn't see the tangible benefits of that unprecedented success.

What tangible benefits are you referring to? Simply meaning, what is it exactly you expected should have occurred?

He listed them out in his original tweet:
"from media attention to facilities to the care of the players."

Some of us are drinking too much Aggie juice. The kid has a point. He was on the team while we were in the stands. Not to mention he owns a yacht and understands a little bit about business also.

Nah…. you guys don’t get it! John Davis is a CEO, a businessman seeing what can or should have been done. Deon is a CEO first that’s why business is the forefront of his approach to things. He is also the marketing department at JSU, bottom line we need both someone with a CEO mentality and a marketing depart to attract sponsors and to convince our fans alumni and community to buy something, participate!

If there are plans to enhance our facilities then that addresses that criticism. Now, there certainly is something to be said about why it hasn't already happened.
The media attention part is where I struggle. At the FCS level presents a challenge within itself. Could we have been better at marketing, fair criticism. Has our football program suffered since Celebration successes? No, 1 bad year entering a new conference answers that. If this year stinks then I'm completely with you and John. JSU and Prime are outliers. And world class facilities/care at JSU - not there yet.
Finally, the care of the players deeply concerns me. We should be thoughtful and spare no expense when it comes to mental and physical fitness of ALL of our student athletes, especially those that participate in contact and collision sports.
All in all, not drinking any cool-aid. But, wanting us to add color to these conversations. I surmise that we be better get to getting it swiftly to avoid being exposed in the CAA.

Like many others, he doesn't see the tangible benefits of that unprecedented success. I get that but to use JSU as opposed to Deion as his foundation is flawed. And the catalyst does matter. NO other HBCU, or even FCS football school can match him. See the recruiting classes he's had in his 2 years (both better than ANY FCS school EVER and quite a few FBS programs), the number of times he's been on NATIONAL TV (Sports shows, networks, etc.), his social platform & frequency (Bar Stool Sports, etc.), his moxie, etc. Concerning "tangible benefits" I would say it's very subjective. Some might say: - The success we experienced across so many different sports since we won the CB in 2015 is VERY tangible and is shown by the number of All Sports Awards we were able to win (3 I believe)
- The growth in the number of total students
- The amount of money we raised and has us at an endowment multiple times what it was before 2015
- The level of players we're getting...True freshmen 3-stars, transfer 4-stars, more starred players than probably ever

The media attention is subjective. Because most FCS media coverage is mostly regional. Hell most FBS media coverage is regional also outside of a bowl game .

With the out-of-state freshman cap increasing to 35%, athletics should be the front porch of the brand to the rest of the country. Not to mention there has never been a cap on transfers. When we fix the field and add some brick to the stadium, the image changes almost immediately for those viewing in person or on TV. Then all we have to do is win.

Like I stated before, Davis clearly outlined the tangible items that he felt were underserved during our title run. None of the things you listed are what he talked about. If a player who was on the front lines during that period tells you personally that we should have gotten more out of our 4 HBCU National Titles, I'm not sure why folks are so quick to discount that.
