Let me say it another way. I don't think our fanbase would care that A&M is coming here to play. If they bring their band then possibly, but from a football perspective no. The Maynor angle would be nice but I don't see the causal football fan saying let me go to Greensboro to see A&T vs Bama A&M. It's alot of options around us I agree as well, no SWAC schools excites me as a regular season game unless its a classic in Atlanta or something. The casual football fan is also not traveling to see a us vs norfolk, morgan, or howard game either. Especially if you continue to beat up on those schools. Because regardless of who you’re playing, you have to MARKET these events. It usually isn’t just going to sell itself, especially when you’re an HBCU that other HBCUs are weary about being obliterated by on national TV. It would be much easier in my opinion to market a game against a competitive SWAC team than the MEAC teams we’re talking about, mostly because they are hyper competitive and would market those matchups just as much as if not harder. Every year we do the CB & beat Alcorn fans from Southern, Gram, AAMU etc destroy Twitter because they wanna chance to get at us. They would be more than eager

The goal is not athlete recruitment or even student recruitment. They both will already know who we are 99+ times out of 100. The goal is to give large alumni fanbases the opportunity to see and support the athletic teams up close and to commiserate with fellow hbcu alumni in the area.
The goal on the admin side is obviously a little different.
I assume the administration is expecting the alumni to give regardless. The probably don't have a great deal of interest in the alumni that don't give or decrease their donations as a result anyways. You can't count on folks that are shaky.
One thing I've noticed about this administration is they are very logical and are three steps ahead of everybody else. Before too long I'm betting they'll find a way to beam BS games to alumni chapters and turn them into cookouts/potlucks/giving sessions. Alumni starved to see the team from the DMV are going to travel in droves to NSU and somebody is gonna sponsor bus trips from some half-closed mall's parking lot to transport those that don't want to drive there but are more than willing to pony up funds to sit back and relax and drink their favorite adult beverage and talk junk along the way (and sleep it off on the way back)..
The game done changed and we are blessed enough to be at the forefront of the change. Once we get through to the other side of whatever is taking place in the college athletic landscape we will be thankful we jumped when we did.
In the meantime, enjoy the game with NSU.

Playing in Alabama does zero for student or athlete recruitment. I would rather play FAMU, southern or Jackson in a classic in Charlotte or Atlanta. Yes, and playing DMV schools does well for recruitment while having a grand total of *checks notes* TWO guys from that area on the roster. And have absolutely NONE on the roster the last time we stepped on a field. The main team that has DMV athletes on their roster is track, and at this point they’re gonna come regardless they know who A&T is. Opening yourself up to an actual good football state with competitive schools and great facilities for our fans < going to Baltimore and DC playing in 30 degree weather and beating them by 70 for the next decade after leaving the MEAC and having 3k fans in the building (2,781 of them being A&T fans in the first place) I'm not sure I understand your points. - What does going to Alabama do for alumni/donor engagement? - How many Aggies are gonna show-up in Alabama, how is that to our advantage? - Why would an OOC game be played in 30 degree weather in September? - What's wrong with beating D1 teams by 70 points? - Why should we care about other schools facilities?

Obviously you have never been to an Aggie football game in Norfolk, Hampton, Howard or Morgan.

Not to be involved regarding who we play or where... just find "beating them by 70 points" an interesting comment after getting beat 2 years in a row by Morgan.

Logic has never been a requirement for posting. If you where there that day when we last visited Morgan, you know it was a cold windy overcast day. Morgan's band out numbered the fans on the home side. While the Aggies were pretty deep from the 35 to the 35.
