Some of us are just still mad we're leaving the MEAC. It wouldn't matter how many HBCU games were on the future schedule, who they were against, or the reason we scheduled it. We would still be a little salty. SMH It's the fact that we're leaving the MEAC for a pwi conference. If we left for a conference with hbcus it wouldn't be an issue. As for NSU, hopefully we can continue our recent success over them. In general, I would agree, but in this thread it's more anti poster (imho). This is the 1st mentions of changing conferences. I just have a longer history with HU, so I prefer them even though I hate everything but the game (parking, stadium, porta potty, concession lines, GA Avenue, getting in and out). NSU is a lot easier and I see basically the same Aggies, and the Tidewater Chapter lays out an awesome spread.

Hopefully we will be able to continue playing as many of our former conference members as possible . But I do find it ironic that the poster who initially made the complaint about not playing Howard said when we announced our move to the Big South that no HBCU's should ever schedule us again .

dc, maryland, and virginia “by far” represent the largest percentage of “out of state” students at a&t, its always been that way and its not a “coincidence” given that a&t’s largest out of state alums reside in dc, maryland, and virginia far more than any other region outside of north carolina. the state of “maryland” (not south carolina or virginia which are “adjacent” to north carolina) represent the “largest” percentage of out of state students on a&t’s campus. again, not a “coincidence” given that a very large number of alums live in maryland such as myself. reportedly, “maryland” represents 3.2% of students on campus, twice as many as south carolina. virginia is 2nd behind maryland with 2.7% students at a&t, almost twice as many as south carolina which is 1.5% and georgia is 1.3%. so the “largest” out of state enrollment of students at a&t come from the dmv area. i would think that its a good idea to maintain an athletic visibility in the dmv region for obvious reasons. remember, out of state students pay a much larger tuition (ching, ching) than in state students... www.collegefactual.com/colleges/north-carolina-a-and-t-state-university/student-life/diversity/chart-geographic-diversity.htmlNorth Carolina A & T State University Undergraduate Geographic Diversity BreakdownTop States Percent of Undergrads North Carolina 86.3% Maryland 3.2% Virginia 2.7% South Carolina 1.5% Georgia 1.3% New Jersey 0.8% New York 0.5% Ohio 0.5% Pennsylvania 0.4% District of Columbia 0.4%

I selfishly would like to see us roll up to the dmv for football games but at the same time family obligations have made it impossible for me to attend any fall sporting events whatsoever for the foreseeable future.
I wonder if the amount of enrollees from the dmv will decrease substantially if we stop playing games regularly in the area. We're much more of a national university (imo) than we've been any time in our history and Dr. Martin doesn't appear to be the type to stand pat on continuing to pan the same area for gold if we've already established the mine. Meanwhile, the AD's position seems to be if it don't make dollars, it don't make sense. Therefore if it's not a moneymaker and/or a road to a higher playoff seed, I don't know that it will catch his interest.
How many of us (not counting folks from NC in the first place) attended an A&T game before deciding to the attend the school? Or how many attended games of a number of institutions and still decided on Ayantee anyways? We may be putting more emphasis on this than need be beyond the expected loss of donations from disgruntled DMV supporters.

ESPN+ Baby! You can watch every game from the comfort of your smart tv I'm in Atlanta, so besides the Celebration Bowl the only thing we ever got was an occasional basketball game against GT or Kennesaw. Before the streaming of games, I had to deal with Spencer and Billy over suspect dial up and wifi. Aggies Do!

Aggies Do! if folk "preferred" to watch aggies play over the internet rather than "in person", they wouldn't show up for games "in person". i could stay home and watch aggie games on the internet but that ain't the same as "being there". the internet/tv is no substitute for "in person" games, especially when it comes to the bgmm and the "social scene"...

Yeap! We'll have three HBCU's at home in 2022 (Spartans, Puppies and Pirates) and one on the road (Buzzards). Now, can we please get that classic set up with FAMU by 2023? Does SWAC have a 8 or 9 game conference schedule

Unless the two schools are going to co-promote the event themselves, why play a classic with FAMU and lose money??
I'd much rather do a 2-year or 4-year home-and-home contract with them and and entice our regional fans to come out. And I don't care whether or not The Hundred comes to Greensboro.
Back on-topic:
I like the fact that we've signed a deal to keep the Spartans on our football schedule. I'm sure that we'll get future games with Howard and Morgan State, too, as long as they are home-and-home contracts.
Personally, I hope that we maintain the Spartans on our future basketball schedules, too.

The way scheduling is shaping up is in my opinion promising. We are playing HBCUs within driving distance allowing us to maximize our in game experiences. The new conference affiliation with added media content exposure helps us to consistently have our name out there. I'll be honest, if we continue on this trajectory as long as we continue performing at a high level we are going to have our cake and eat it too.

Kinda funny how no one has even mentioned the idea of venturing out to other HBCUs, particularly in the SWAC. Schools with actual fanbases that are guaranteed to come here and vice versa. And would be more competitive on top of everything else. Always feel like we’re in a fishbowl looking through the glass at everybody actually have competitive environments at games. I understand NSU deal was inked because they’re probably going to the Big South soon, but I just don’t see the advantage in other games in the North. Schools that play awful football right and for the foreseeable future, have zero atmosphere currently, and that most of our students genuinely do not know/care about (I’m a current student). The only positive is to keep Aggie alums from that area happy right now. We leave the MEAC to make sure our first priority is to play a bunch of Northern schools with terrible football quality, no fans, and little exposure, hardly even a “rivalry” history. I wish that we could get something started with Bama State & AAMU.

I like your idea of starting an athletic relationship with Alabama A&M and Alabama State. We already have a link with Alabama State's athletic administration and a tie to AAMU's football staff.
(Years ago, we had a nice OOC rivalry with Tennessee State in both basketball and football that should have never gone away.)
