i ain't mad at him one bit. if it makes him "happy", then i'm happy for him. i'll never get mad at a kid who decides to leave our program, no matter how gifted they are. its all about what makes them happy.
i chose to attend a&t because a&t is where i wanted to be, hands down. though the thought of transferring never even crossed my mind, had i changed my mind it would've been my personal decision just like it was powell's personal decision to leave. to me, it don't matter "why" he chose to leave. i wish him well nonetheless and hope he's happy with his decision...

I have to agree…actually transferred to NCA&T from UNCC. I knew exactly what I was doing and why I was doing…and I have never regretted it. The move was the best thing that ever happens to me. Kids coming and going is not what anyone wants but it’s the future of college sports. We will just have to get used to it.

He did not say that. He just gave an alternative reason for why some basketball players enter the transfer portal, besides dislike of the university. So what's Powell reason for leaving? Sorry, I don't know. I had read the tweet Saabman referenced about choosing between gas for his car and a haircut. It could also be playing time or coming off the bench. All speculation by me.

That settles that.
I wish him the best...but we're movin' on! Because he has made a Commitment announcement that doesn't mean that he is locked in..i.e Tuten. Commitments are non-binding agreements not a contract like NLI which is binding. For me I wouldn't take him back because I have a "If you don't wanna be here Get The Hell On" Approach. Ross maybe forgiving if Powell decommits and tries to return . So there Is Always a Chance that Powell could return 😆🤣😂

I can only assume he has one of his boys on the team or Knows someone on the coaching staff. Just seems like and unusual landing place based on his previous comments

It's probably the cynical side of me but I'm beginning to believe that as lot of these guys who jump into the portal just might be addicted to the rush of being recruited all over again.
(sigh)

Just seems like and unusual landing place based on his previous comments From a basketball perspective I can see it. Sacramento has the NBA Kings and a G League team . What better place to get exposure then having G League and NBA players watching or reading about you in the local media market. Also Sac Town has a vibrant intertainment nightlife near the River Walk and Underground . So it's not that bad of a landing spot

🤷🏾♂️ Changed his mind. Wasn’t the first and won’t be the last.

NCAA website stats on transfers between D1 levels to help explain that Duncan's decision was not that unusual. Check out these percentages from the past four years: 8, 8, 8, 9 — that’s the percentage of overall transfers who have gone up a level. If you look specifically at just Division I, then the percentage is at 17, 16, 17 and 16 over the past four seasons. Most players remaining in Division I — about 60% — go laterally, while the number of players who transfer down has stayed in the 20% range. www.ncaa.org/news/2020/1/17/new-data-shows-transfers-in-division-i-men-s-basketball-remain-steady-over-recent-years.aspx

(sigh) You're not being "cynical". I know people that do the same thing when it comes to jobs. They never get enough of getting called, emailed, or interviewed. It's not always that the are unhappy in their current position. It's the hunt and the feeling they get being wanted. Nothing strokes the ego more than being wanted and someone telling you how good you are.

From the outside this move seems completely unnecessary and very short sighted. AggieOne made a great point about the feeling of being recruited again. But moving on...
