When was he mistreated. I think his first year at T he was injured and did not play but he was well taken care of. He kept his scholarship and was given the opportunity to get an education. He wanted more money for his talents that were ok at best. His talent was and will not get him in the NBA so he might as well stayed at A&T. He was not mistreated here except that the so called basketball coach did not know how to use him on the court. NIL has ruined a lot of kids with false hope and promises. Sometimes loyalty is better than a few duckies. Im not a expert on NBA talent but it says last year at Sacramento state Powell was projected to go second round in the NBA Draft. He was also leading the country in rebounds and double doubles the first 10 games, It seems like his playtime time decreased at the end of the season and articles stopped talking about him. You kind of seem bitter, Just saying… Powell played injured the second half of the season but still managed to put up decent numbers ( could be why his playing time an Effectiveness decreased) . I think GA Tech saw enough to recruit him if he became interested or available. Georgia Tech is rebuilding and has the number 14th best recruiting class in the nation in men's basketball. Transfers: 6-2 guard Javian McCollum from Oklahoma, 7-2 center Ryan Mutombo from Georgetown and 6-8 wing Luke O’Brien from Colorado. Recruiting class: Cole Kirouac, a 6-11 center from Cumming, Ga., who attended Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., his senior year, Son of my cousin Gerard Mustafa =Jaeden Mustaf of Bowie, Md, 6-4 guard who also attended Overtime Elite, Doryan Onwuchekwa, a 6-11 center from DeSoto, Texas who attended Faith Family Academy of Oak Cliff, and Darrion Sutton, a 6-8 forward from St. Louis, Mo. That Sutton kid is a beast and a lefty .

Not bitter. Just expressed my opinion. I am not a NBA expert either but I don't believe he has the talent to play in the NBA.

People said the same things about Muggsy Bogues and Spud Webb and definitely said that about Avery Johnson from Southern University and a number of other players that had good NBA careers. So you never know. This is his last stop on the Collegiate merry-go-round so we will see going forward. I hope he makes it to the league

A Roy he ain't no Spudd, Mugsey or Avery. Just an average player who has a bout with injury problems.

I want Him to Ball out.
With the new NIL, seems like everyone is potentially "one and done". (Either to another University, or to Pro Ball).

I want Him to Ball out. With the new NIL, seems like everyone is potentially "one and done". (Either to another University, or to Pro Ball). actually, alotta "borderline" potential nba prospects are now staying in college "longer" in order to take advantage of nil. heck, and why not? not a done deal to make the nba, so why pass up tons of nil money by staying in school? the nba will still be there when you exhaust your college career and you'll also likely have a better chance of making the nba because of your "maturity". heck, former unc tarheel armando bacot made over $2 million in nil money before he left unc. he was a "borderline" nba prospect last season and he used up all of his college eligibility last season, but not before he took home that $2 million which was very smart. he recently signed an nba contract with memphis for slightly over $1 million. he's lucky to get an nba contract, but he was "smart" to use up his college eligibility which allowed him to become a "millionaire"...
