Copy, my only hang up is calling Billy backwards because he believes grass is better than turf. What would help A&T recruit better athletes, $1M spent on a locker room renovation or a turf field? Don't know Billy. But I can tell you this the field is the first thing that anyone sees 👀 when they inter the Stadium . The first impression optics are important to recruiting not only athletes but Donors and Sponsor. I'm going with the Field Turf. You can correct me if I'm wrong but did Broadway have the locker room and Weight rooms renovated or upgraded when he got here. Our locker room has not been upgraded, we still have the yellow metal lockers. Our competition has upgraded their locker rooms…

And I guarantee if someone asks him about it, he would give the coachspeak answer, "Just put the ball down and we'll play."

Not to you…but to me it does 🤷🏾♂️ It’s terrible To each its own I guess, but its a turf field that was just installed by one of the brokest schools in NC. While we have a thread marching on to eventually 100 pages about brown grass. It could be purple and it would look good to me. Me expects 2039 would love it if we made it purple (Royal, that is).

It makes perfect sense. Billy has said for over ten years that we are an agricultural school so we should have a natural grass field. Nothing wrong with that except he can't even maintain the field, so he should just go sit down somewhere. He's backwards because he doesn't understand the power of optics, and its impact on recruiting, television and of course Aggie Pride. Placing optics over player safety is backwards. $1.3M being spent on a new locker room does more for recruiting than a turf field. Only a couple people level of Aggie Pride is tied to the color of a field…out of 75k alumni less than 1 percent care. Not downplaying the importance of player safety but optics can/does play a role in player safety. When things look good some/many people want to be part of it (see the "Stu" - Student Center). As a result people feel better, come, spend/give more money, etc. The additional money can be used to enhance player safety, etc. And I'm not just talking about facilities alone: - TV crowd view (see the tv cameras mostly showing the visitor side in Truist which is typically far less crowded (I know it's because of the logo but it still looks bad), cameras pointed at our benches in Corbett but the students fill the stands behind the primary camera first, volleyball fans sit behind the cameras first as opposed to behind the benches in the camera view, etc.). - Our band sitting on the home side, as opposed to at the end of the field, during the games and keeps a lot of people from being able to see them and hear them very well. - I noticed this at basketball games. Our cheerleaders tend to face one side most of the time when they come on the floor during timeouts, etc. If I had anything to say about it I would have the 4-5 member groups face in different directions when they do some of their cheer/stunts. - Etc.

Has player safety ever been mentioned as a reason that we still have the mud bowl?

Yes, by me. Don't know if the brass at T ever mentioned it.

After 72 pages I'll say one thing. Billy likes grass but he's not the one making the decision on what is and isn't a priority. He doesn't decide whether the field is turfed or not. It should be a priority but it isn't. JMHO...

The decision maker/makers knows exactly what the field looks like. They see it all the time. They know that there are people who discuss it every day. They obviously have their reasons for not publicly addressing the issue and have made the decision not to share them with you folks.

Tell us something that we don't already know . Like why are they afraid to discuss the field publicly. I have said this before " Secrets can be an addictive drug "

Well, it took me almost four years and 70 pages to care, and I'm not the one actually responsible for coming up with the money to make sure whatever is eventually done IS done and is sustainable. Imagine how much longer it'll take for somebody on the other side of the fence.

I wanted turf when I was there but besides the price tag, the track was the excuse for not moving forward. Being able to throw the javelin in the stadium apparently made for must see viewing...
