You can't read. When did I mention turf? This whole conversation is about a turf field…lol No it's not. This conversation is about other schools taking action to improve their fields and us seemingly doing nothing. I would rather have a grass field, not when it's a crap shoot as to what condition its going to be in. This should not even be a conversation at all. When you fight like hell for 50 years to be on TV and even the commentators are making jokes about the field on a national broadcast, that's bit too far. And if you think that's OK, then you're "backwards", too. Football is about branding today and if we don't care then we should go back to the CIAA. Oh I forgot their fields look better than ours also. Maybe everybody's damn field looks better. ...on to 100.

They rely on "Backwards Billy". Why do you call him backwards? The number one football program in the nation has a grass field… University of Alabama UGA also has a grass field How many NFL stadiums have real grass? Sixteen NFL stadiums have real grass. Nine of them have Bermuda grass, four have Kentucky bluegrass, two have Desso Grassmaster and one has a combination of different grasses. How many NFL stadiums have artificial turf? Sixteen NFL teams play home games on artificial turf across 14 stadiums. The Giants and Jets share a turf field in MetLife Stadium, while the Rams and Chargers share a turf dome in SoFi Stadium. More NFL teams play on grass vs turf. Majority of turf fields are in domes… There are only 5 turf fields at outdoor stadiums… Heck the raiders have a dome with a grass field, shows how important it is to player safety. www.nbcsports.com/washington/football-team/which-nfl-stadiums-have-artificial-turf-vs-real-grass?amp39 what you failed to also mention about the grass fields maintenance at those programs, is that there playing and practice Fields maintenance are managed by specific maintenance Crews with the only responsibilities are only the practice & game fields. Also they only answer to the athletic department AD & Coaches . Until A&T is willing to invest in a athletics only grounds crew, Field Turf will be A&T's best option.

Copy, my only hang up is calling Billy backwards because he believes grass is better than turf. What would help A&T recruit better athletes, $1M spent on a locker room renovation or a turf field?

He's the one making the decisions (out of Hilton's mouth). And he already has enough cards to make a better decision. He makes it a philosophical decision, not a practical one, an economical one, or a smart one.

He makes it a philosophical decision, not a practical one, an economical one, or a smart one. He isn’t making the decisions, he works for the AD… If the AD wanted a turf field it would happen. The football coach isn’t concerned either. The track coach wanted a new track and it happened.

Is $1M better spent on a new locker room, moving the softball field or a turf field?
Let’s not forget we only play about two - three games a year where the field is brown and the game is streamed.

It goes to the earlier post about whether the poster meant re-sod or re-seed. We never got an answer to that. Evidently, as you say, Washington doesn't care either. Hell, he played in mud at Pittsburgh back in the day. LOL

Don't know Billy. But I can tell you this the field is the first thing that anyone sees 👀 when they inter the Stadium . The first impression optics are important to recruiting not only athletes but Donors and Sponsor. I'm going with the Field Turf. You can correct me if I'm wrong but did Broadway have the locker room and Weight rooms renovated or upgraded when he got here.

Let’s not forget we only play about two - three games a year where the field is brown and the game is streamed. That's half the games we play at home. Don't you get it? Our cornertone athletic field looks like sh*t for half the season and that's OK?. No other D1 school in our region has this problem. Elon doesn't. Wake forest doesn't. UNCG doesn't. It's not an economic barrier, it's a choice we make. We won't even re-sod. (at least not yet). That's sad.
