I'm not that far away either......I'm just more or less questioning the sense of the move. Putting the emotion aside (which can be tough), I just don't see Femi being a force in the Big East or at Hofstra. He could be a 20 and 10 player at A&T next year, and get more of a whiff in the NBA than being a 5 and 5 (if that) player at those schools. He may prove me wrong, but I doubt it.......

I wish he'd stay but realistically he'll probably stand a better chance of getting a look by the nba in almost any other conference rather than the MEAC. Over the last 30 years the conference has only had 5 people on an NBA roster and that's not going to convince anyone to stay.

How does that stack up with NBA players from the Big South Conference, Ivy League, Summit League and Northeast Conference over that same period of time (since 1988)??

The question which should be asked is if Femi can put up big numbers at Georgetown, DePaul, Butler or Hofstra which could propel him to the NBA? Femi could average 20 points, 10 rebounds at A&T next year and make conference player of the year. That ain't happening for him in the Big East. We'll see what happens if he goes to Hofstra. I'd take my chances of getting a better look in the NBA by being MEAC player of the year than being a 2nd/3rd string benchwarmer in the Big East.

Well he's headed to DePaul via his announcement on his Twitter pages this evening.

Best wishes to you, Femi, and thanks for helping to restore A&T's men's basketball team to respectability this season after several dismal seasons...

Good luck Femi! I just don’t see Depaul going to the NCAA Tournament. He will need to be one of the nations leading scorers to get media attention at DePaul. Surprising choice, he would have been the dominate big man in the MEAC garnering national attention like last season.
How will we replace 16 ppg and 7 rpg? That is critical to winning next season.

FYI - DePaul hasn't had a winning season since 2006-07. In fact, they haven't even been close to sniffing .500. Good luck to him; this is not the DePaul of 70's/80's.

Ray Meyer the last and only coach to take team to a final four. That was decades ago. Have they been to a NCAA tournament in the last 10-15 years. They sort of fell of the map. Maybe the luck of the Irish will arrive with Femi and they have a big season.
