i think thompson is a "big time" pickup! i'm very relieved that we found this dude given the circumstances we've gone through recently. i think this kid may have been overlooked by some schools because his sophomore and junior seasons were cut short due to injuries which negatively impacted his stats. but coming back fully healthy in his senior year, dude was a straight up "monster"! rushed for over 2,500 yards in a 4A program is very impressive.
if he stays healthy, he will become the next major running back to follow cohen as another 1,000 yard plus per season aggie running back...

The kid has a good first step good vision, also he runs Square with a slight lean and knows how to get small in the boxs. good leg movement and runs with purpose. And has size along with breakaway speed. If he can block it's icing on the cake. This kids a runner leave him in the back field.!

Broadway picked up some needed insurance for down the road by signing Sun Valley and Porter Ridge High School star quarterback Isaiah Hicklin. Hicklin started his high school career at Porter Ridge HS in Monroe, NC before transferring his final year to Sun Valley HS also in Union County. The 6-2, 180 pounder led Porter Ridge to two consecutive trips to state 3-A finals with his last year in 2013, which was his junior season, threw for 2,328 yards, 8 TDs passing with 9 TDs rushing. Last year at Sun Valley, he led the his new club to the state playoffs in a run oriented offense with 601 yards passing, 5 TDs through the air and 6 TDs on the ground. Hicklin signed his letter of intent back on Feb 18th and is expected to redshirt this fall. I don't know where we would put him. He couldn't play QB

I wouldn't say that. Mack is a player. In the read option offense under Bustle he would have fit very nicely. However, new OC Chip Hester has gone to a more traditional pro set style and that changes a lot of the dynamics you look for in a quarterback.
Besides now with five quarterbacks on the roster headed into summer workouts, any late signees or preferred walk-ons at this point had better understand that a red shirt is most likely etched into their immediate future.

the kid looks pretty good to me. my philosophy is you can never have too many great qb's. if it were left to me, i'd bring him in if i could and let the chips fall where they may...

Damn, I'm sick of looking at horrible DB play. Anyways, yeah. I'm not sure he fits with all the QBs we have now. Like AggieOne said. He would be perfect under our old OC.

What are his grades like?
Wonder why he hasn't signed anywhere yet.

I was about to ask that same question. A&T isn't exactly the easiest place to get admitted to these days.

He would be perfect under our old OC. monster, you have to keep in mind that these are "offensive" highlights which means for whatever reason, the defensive players got handled. they don't put the best db coverages on "offensive" highlight videos because it wouldn't be an "offensive" highlight. there's plenty of defensive footage that we're not seeing on offensive highlight videos. personally, i wouldn't expect db coverage to appear to be flawless in an offensive highlight video, otherwise the receivers wouldn't be open and the qb wouldn't have a highlight to show. just my opinion...

again, its really difficult to judge the passing proficiency of a qb based on highlight video because we only see his best throws, we don't get to see his bad throws. we never see a qb's interceptions on a highlight video. nonetheless, the kid looked pretty decent in the pocket and threw some fairly accurate passes, imho. again, its hard to make a judgement solely on highlight video, but i didn't see anything in his video that says he can't accurately pass from the pocket.
for my own personal taste, unless a kid is the next coming of jameis winston, i like my qb's to be able to hurt a defense with his legs. there's not too many peyton manning's and tom brady's out there. to me, unless a kid has the pocket savy of a manning or a brady (which is very rare), please give me a "dual threat" qb...

Five. Three upperclassmen and two more coming in this summer as freshman. No way a true freshman pushes past either Raynard, Barimo, or Foster for that matter. The two freshmen can expect red shirts.
To the question of have I seen him play? Yep I saw him three times last season and a couple times as a junior. No dispute the kid is a really good athlete. I brought that up way back last August. Like I said before, in our previous offense he would have been a good fit but does that style translate in this new offensive philosophy? That would be something only Coach Broadway and Coach Hester could determine.
Why not give them a call or shoot them an email?

Broadway has been very thorough recruiting the area. Someone with the talent you all are describing doesn't slip under the radar. Maybe some other factors there? JMHO...
