We have a nba star on campus. If the lakers thought enough to want to hire him to their coaching staff surely there must be some talent there. I know it sound crazy .. but the media attention would be insane.. I mean insane. he has the connections to bring people around him to build a program.. I don’t know this Shumpert guy but bases off what I read what could not be that much different. Why not! I suggested this a couple of months ago but the powers to be or the fan board big shots blew it off. JR would be great!!

This Media day will probably show a humble A&T. And that NCCU Game, in Charlotte, should have us focused from the Jump. I pray you are correct. Last year set a terrible tone for the year and honestly I felt then that we put an unnecessary target on ourselves. This season really needs to be about letting our play do the talking. Our mantra this year needs to be DISCIPLINE! YOU'RE 100% AGGIE 94!!

VA's Finest, I agree with you 100%. Dooms may need to rethink his thinking.

Never thought I would hear that 😆🤣 but I miss him to . He is missing playing. Chipped a bone in his foot when he landed on the foot of the Longwood player. Did anyone notice that the big guys lately have been reaching for rebounds instead of jumping for rebounds?? That's why other teams are getting the rebounds that we should be "EASILY" getting. And, we're still missing free throws that we shouldn't! They all need to spend more time in practice working on free throws... free and easy points.

It's official: Christmas Miracle: Aggies Sign Star Defensive Back
By Semaj Marsh Published: December 21, 2021Highly coveted defensive back transfer Karon Prunty sent shockwaves throughout the college football world today when he announced that he had signed a Letter of Intent to play at North Carolina A&T. Prunty, a 6’1, 190-pound native of Portsmouth, Virginia, started all nine games as a true freshman for Kansas in 2020 before transferring to the University of South Carolina this summer. During his lone season with the Jayhawks, Prunty recorded one interception, nine pass breakups, 26 total tackles, and one tackle for a loss. He was ranked 7th in the nation among defensive backs with a completion percentage of just 38.5 percent. Afterwards, he was named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and selected to the True Freshman All-American team. Prunty is considered by football scouts as a prototypical shutdown corner, displaying natural ball skills and NFL size. He is also expected to be a contributor on special teams. just because a guy is a former nba player doesn't "automatically" make him an ideal candidate to become a division 1 college basketball coach. butch beard was also a former nba player and a former nba "head coach" for the nets, yet he didn't make a difference as head coach at howard and morgan state...[/quote]
To that, I totally agree!

Does anyone, other than me, think JR could/would make a really good AGGIE MBB coach with his knowledge, skills and contacts?? JUST ASKING!! jerry eaves was also a former nba player with lots of contacts and knowledge, how did that work out for us? Yet, there are a number of colleges with ex NBA players in coaching positions and are successful. So, what's your point?

I think this has become a competition to see who can say the most outlandish things in one thread. Let's pump the brakes on the race talk and get back to the original question about fan expectations. Thank you, Mr. Administrator!! How did we get so far of track while discussing a very legitimate concern?!!

Unfortunately, if it’s true next season is the last year of his contract, it may be tough to get beyond next season if they isn’t at least a winning season. But if HBCU/Celebration titles are automatic contract extenders, then he may have three years left anyway. I think his immediate future is tied less to wins/loses and more to the intangibles (on/off field discipline, grade success, etc). My biggest intangible is how we look in the wins and loses.
I totally agree, (My biggest intangible is how we look in the wins and loses.) Mine as well! On (and off) field selling of wolf tickets and out right bullying and other thuggish behavior should not be tolerated. It seems that in our desire to bring in 4- and 5-star athletes we are accepting the good athletes that power schools would never touch, or if they did, these athletes would be playing for long. No self respecting school would field some of the thugs we seem to have. And, I don't recall reading or hearing anyone suggesting that Coach Washington should be fired, at least not right now. However, someone needs to light a fire under his butt. He can't keep "p*ssy footing" around the serious lack of discipline on the time. We really hurt ourselves this year, not with the loses but our on-field demeanor. There are schools we admire and even play sometimes that would never tolerate the crap Washington is putting up with. It's an embarrassment!! Oh, by-the-way, some of the self anoited "big shots" on this board suggests blind loyalty at all cost. To that I say, "hell no"! Coaching is a job. If one cannot perform in the position then yeah, he or she should go. But I know I didn't say or write that our coach should be fired. BLIND LOYALTY!!

I don't think so. If the team is losing as a result of superior competition, then there should be support and loyalty from fans. However, when coaching staff repeatedly fail to demand proper behavior from players, then that's a major problem! Some of this same CRAP has been going on for years under Washington. Think how we must look to our new competition when we show a total lack of discipline by a number of our players. I could go on and on but there's no need. If coach Broadway refused to tolerate that mess, if coach PRIME at JSU refuses to tolerate it, then why should we? Acting like thugs and idiots makes us look really bad to our competition, and we have already garnered well deserved disrespect as clowns willing to fight or bully if they can't win. Whatever some on this board may think, I do support, and am loyal to NC A&T, but not things so elementary as player and staff discipline and decency.
