US News & World Report explained the methodology changes in a news release, saying more than half of an institution's rank now relies on measures like enrolling and graduating students from all backgrounds, and post-graduation debt and success. It also noted the removal of factors like class size, faculty with terminal degrees, alumni giving, high school class standing and the proportion of graduates who borrow federal loans. Does this explain FAMU's move from #7 last year to #3 this year?

New HBCU College rankings lists: 1. Spellman; 2. Howard; and FAMU has now moved up to #3 in the rankings while NC A&T is back at #7! What is preventing NCAT from moving forward like Howard and FAMU has done?

Offensive game plan is terrible. 2 weeks in a row. Yeah, and our defense isn't that good either. As an example: NCCU has the ball with 3rd and one; defense lines up with 3 linesman and 4 or 5 linebackers 8 or 10 yards back to stop a 1 yard gain. The play went for a heck of a lot more than 1 yard. The DC needs to get it together. And, what's with all the penalties after doing so well last week?

Where do you see the discount code information at? caasports.com/news/2021/8/12/football-caa-and-flosports-announce-expansion-of-streaming-rights-partnership.aspxBy following this link (flosports.tv/caa), CAA fans can sign up for an annual subscription to FloSports, which remains at a reduced rate of $95.88 per year ($7.99 per month) or a discounted monthly rate of $12.50. Also, anyone who subscribes using a CAA member Institution domain (.edu) e-mail address will be eligible for a $6.99 subscription rate per month. Any subscription provides access to all content that FloSports offers. I'm a little nervous. I'm not getting a signal on the A&T/NCCU PAGE on Flosports. Any one else having that issue?

Reminder...we don't have Coach Prime or his talent on our sideline. But we'll get better. we don't need coach prime talent to run similar plays that they ran. all of the "short passes" were "easy throws" and "easy reads". clearly ya'll haven't watched coach prime's opening drive against tcu. so here are all of the plays that coach prime ran during the opening drive starting from their own 27 yd line, drove all the way down the field for a td for those who didn't see it. mind you, "none" of the passes in the first drive were "difficult passes" and most were "simple read" first progression type passes. we could've run plays just like this (based on what uab was giving us) and been successful. every single qb on our roster should be able to make these "easy" throws. so here's coach prime's opening drive plays; first play, they isolate their rb against the opposing lb (who is 10 yds deep off the rb) with a "flair pass" (wide open) behind the line of scrimmage in the flat, gained 7 yds. 2nd play, 5 yard curl play to travis hunter (db lined up 10 yds off of hunter), good for 5 yds and a 1st down. 3rd play, run up the middle for a couple yds. 4th play, incomplete pass into the endzone (to keep the defense "honest") 5th play, immediate quick pass to the slot guy (hardly even moved, took 2 steps backward to receive the pass) cuz the db was 10 yards off of him. gained 9 yds for a first down. 6th play, pass to his "wide open" rb out of the backfield in the flat, gained 5 yds. 7th play, run up the middle for 3yds. 8th play, 5 yard hitch pass to a "wide open" slot receiver (again, db lined up 10 yds off of him), gained 10 yds. 9th play (in the red zone from tcu's 14 yd line), takes a shot into the corner of the endzone fell incomplete. 10th play, run up the middle for 8 yds., ball is now on tcu's 6 yd line. 11th play, quick pass to slot receiver who had just turned from where he was and faced the qb (again, db lined up 10 yds off of him), gained 4 yds down to the tcu 2 yd line. 12th play, run up the middle got stuffed, no gain. 13th play, flair to the rb out of the backfield "wide open" for a td... other than the shots into the endzone, none of these passes were difficult passes, none of these passes requires the qb to "hold the ball very long", none of these passes require "multiple reads", all of these passes were "safe passes" (not in traffic), all of these passes were "wide open" cuz the db lined up 10 yds off of receiver.every single qb on our roster should be capable of completing all of these passes... Oleschool, your play-by-play account of Coach Prime's OC's play calling was on point. And to think, our requests of short passes to tight ends and running backs have made for years: to previous coaching staffs and now this one. I was hoping that coach Brown and his staff would be different, but I guess not. Noone seems to see the value in patience in scoring, that a 5-yard pass is as good as a 5-yard run. Enough of either should equate to a score, all things equal.

i'm disappointed in our "play calling" to an extent. to me, when you're out-manned in the trenches, "play calling" takes on a new meaning. a lot of "easy" short passes would've been in my game plan for this game and for several reasons. 1 - short passes gets the ball out of our qb's hands "quickly" which means less hits on our qb's and less "decision making" by our qb's. 2 - short "easy" passes are easier to complete thereby giving our qb's confidence in completing passes (albeit "short" passes). 3 - completing several short "easy" passes enables our qb to find a "passing rhythm" which would give them confidence to complete intermediate and long passes. 4 - using short "easy" passes can used on "first down" when uab doesn't expect it making it more likely to "break a long one" after the catch. 5 - short "easy" passes on first down keeps the defense "off balance" which makes running the ball "easier". 6 - last but not least, short "easy" passes sets up the "double-move" that can become a "game breaker" if done at the right time On point, and very well said Oleschool!!

They're killing us with 8 to 10 yard passes. Why aren't we doing that instead of slinging ot down field, and no positive results??

Now, that is what's disturbing to me: injuries! We've got the whole season and conference ahead of us. We just can't afford to lose our players in a game we will lose anyway!!

I prefer simplicity in uniform designs. With current technology (personal or commercial devices) in quickly identifying players on the field, we don't necessarily need player's numbers on every piece of equipment (helmet, pants, shoes, etc). I would stick to school colors only, number on jersey only, optional player's name, and a combination of school name, emblem, or mascot. Although I don't like it but it is today's world, an exception would be the inclusion of marketing trademarks from deals in generating team/school revenue. Do what is necessary to distinguish your team from the opposing team in uniform attire, but the biggest distinction you can make for me is high performance or dominance on the field as well as demonstrate discipline. And as some on this board have suggested, "TUCK IN THOSE DAMN SHIRTS"!! Stop looking so damn sloppy!

We are going to get smashed in the CAA for at least our first 3 years in that league. In all sports. Across the board & it's already happening.
We've got to do a better job of convincing in-state talent to "stay home" & receive a quality education and play good ball here.
But, I realize that there are some black parents who still believe pwi ice is colder & prettier & white parents who'd rather see Seth or Amy go to a pwi and sit for 3, maybe 4 seasons as opposed to coming here & contributing right away. But we have to try.
We could build powerhouse programs across the board by recruiting kids along I-40, I-85, I-95, US 29 & US 70, but we go to Diggyville Georgia, Stratford on the Bottom England, Coldashell Minnesota, & Duckpin Ohio to sign 1 & 2 star kids who are the same kids at NC high schools we won't look at.
I don't get it.
It's about to get ugly 'round here & y'all know it.[/quote]
This is by far the wisest most thoughtful writing I've read on this Board in quite some time. We are going to get killed in the CAA for maybe lo ger than 3 years. We'll be at the bottom of the CAA rankings with Hampton. Do I think we should jump to the CAA? Sure, why not. But we are not preparing. In my opinion, success starts with the athletic administration, then the coaching staff: Athletic Director, then the coaching staff starting with the head coach, then his or he's Coordinators, and so forth. Our head coach is a good man, but I question his ability to lead with authority! "Tell your players to stop the stupid penalties or lose their scholarship, and MEAN IT! Tell your coordinators to step up or find work somewhere else, and mean it!!
