As far as we know, Sanders has accomplished what he has so far on the up and up. However some of us are hating because all this is simply happening because it's Sanders.
He has been there less than 2 years and now has there locker room clearly head and shoulders above all other HBCUs including our beloved Aggies.
For all those "locker rooms don't win championships" folks out there, you are correct they don't but for teams who don't have recent championships this is an awesome recruiting tool to at minimum get your program some looks. Nothing against my Aggies but, don't we all recall our recent "dynasty" and all the success and publicity that came with it, our locker rooms look pretty much the same as when the fitness and wellness center was built.
And yes, also for those who say "well look what we accomplished without those shiny lockers". My reply is what might we be able to accomplish with them.
The new locker room is visible product or pouring into the program, which we all claim we need to do. To the student athlete it shows the administration is showing up for the hard work put in by the program.
All I'm saying is for someone on the fence about a program that has some legit recent sucesss (but trending down), A&T and an upstart program ie JSU, with moderate success (but trending up) the deciding factor could be something as small as the locker room.
Again, I know imma here, "well if they don't want to be at T than so be it". I understand that, but I want a monopoly on recruits, where we can decide if after they get here, if someone doesn't work out, that's cool, but we got first dibs, and NCCU, JSU, SCSU can get our seconds

To date, JSU hasn't accomplished anything besides a SWAC championship. We don't even recruit in the same circles 99 times out of 100.
Their football coach is Deion Sanders and they got beat to death in the Celebration Bowl by Steat. That's their current resume. To be blunt, it's cool they're getting this talent and winning the SWAC, but they won't impress me until they can win outside of the conference (which it appears they aren't even attempting to do). It's carnival barking at this point.
Our athletic department is moving (maybe foolishly) to the CAA and we're on a trajectory to be a R1 institution sooner rather than later. We have different goals. I'm not particularly dazzled by JSU at this juncture, but I am happy for them.

By 2030, A&T will have the newer facility upgrades. We'll begin seeing shovels in the ground and details released later this year regarding the happenings within Aggieland.

Completely hypothetical here, but let's say A&T is winning BS/CAA and JSU is winning SWAC/ CB. Both are championship caliber programs, at which point as a recruit, you begin looking at what else each program has to offer. Education is one of those factors, at the same time let's be completely honest Herr some/most of the potential recruits will likely be swayed by, I don't know, LOCKER ROOM, or maybe even other facilities (weight room, training room), or nutrition. If we're to call championships a wash what makes our program more appealing than others? I guess this another way of posing the question.

My point exactly, 2030?!?!?!?, this guy did this in less than 2 years, shoot by 2030, they will have had another 2 iterations of that locker room. I hate to imagine what JSU can get accomplished by then.

They out here pulling the nations top recruits. we all know they got beat on during the celebration bowl but how long do y’all think it will take before they start beating on everything moving at the rest they’re going? Having a name on a jersey, 50 different uni and helmet combinations, and the best facilities money can buy, social media coverage are a huge thing in this generation. Please take it from a person that is literally from this generation like drop y’all old ways and listen. We had the ball and fumbled it, we’re getting beat on all fronts. Now yes us as a complete university is probably the flag ship HBCU but on the football level no. We all know what athletics and football can do for a school.

VA's Finest, I agree with you 100%. Dooms may need to rethink his thinking.

Which part specifically should I rethink? I’m interested to know.
