You know good and well why they never signed on. Cause no one had the idea to present it to them. No one could present it to Carowinds on how it would make sense for them.

And A&T top brass has shown me time and time again that they can't be trusted I remember when Bonthrilla first started this site and had all these ideas. And even said he would work for free and was shunned. Think about all the great ideas that have been on this site. And never used I'm actually on the fence about Hilton. I have no faith in Martin, i use his division I conquest at WSSU to show as evidence.

I even offered a few things for free back in the Coach Lee era and was shunned. It wasn't anything big either, just some small tidbits that may have helped. But anyways, I still tend to give new people a chance. They are not the old people. I've gotten some decent response from people that are in place now(more to come in the future ). I dont know why Martin(or any chancellor) is always lumped in though? The chancellor(in my opinion) has one decision to make about sports and thats to hire the AD and evaluate him/her every year. Not to make these everyday decisions and ponder on wether we should have a Fan Zone or not, etc, etc. He has to much other stuff on his plate to be spending more than a small portion of his time dealing with athletics.

Monster your are right: The Chancellors job should be to just over see and sign off are not on what the AD is doing. But at A&T for some reason the Chancellor (this is just my opinion) is Micromanaging the sports programs and not given the AD a free had

What HBCU has a Chancellor/President that doesn't micromanage?

I think he is giving a free hand. That's why I keep saying we should leave him out of the conversations unless your talking about firing the AD. That's not happening, so all our suggestions and questions should go to Hilton.

I CAN NOT speak on what other Chancellor do at other HBCU's? So I DARE NOT MAKE A GENERALIZED STATEMENT about other HBCUs!! I understand that you have to Micromanage to some degree but making decisions about even the smallest details dose not show trust and often can lead to counterproductive. Let the AD do his job because in the end The Chancellor has the final word. If this is the case?

Speaking of rivalry games. The FAMU/BCU rivalry has not been going on that long, at least not in football. A&T and NCCU has been going on for almost 80 years. When I was stationed in Orlando, Fla. back in the 60's FAMU looked at BCU like we now look at VUL. FAMU considered A&T a bigger rivalry than BCU back then. FAMU use to play the Orange Blossom Classic in the Orange Bowl back then but I can't remember if they played BCU in that game. They may have but I just don't remember. Since they both join the MEAC and their game was moved to Orlando (Disney World) the game and the rivalry has blossomed into something really big. There was no Disney World in Orlando back in the 60's. They had just started making plans for Disney back then. I don't know how big that game would have become if it had remained in the Orange Bowl. I don't think the FAMU/BCU rivalry is as intensed as the A&T/NCCU rivalry. I just wish we could draw the big crowds (fans) like FAMU/BCU.

It was Prairie View A&M (Tex.) University, in the Orange Blossom Classic. 1959-60
HISTORIC RIVALRYThe annual rivalry game between the Rattlers of Florida A&M and the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman University - formerly known as Bethune-Cookman College - dates back to 1925, with the two teams rotating home fields. It' will never be like the BCU and FAMU rivalry because as someone stated before "N.C. has just to many HBCU's in the state". Also believe it are not a lot of the CIAA fans do not really care for the MEAC! So that right their cuts into your turn out at big MEAC games. You know what else that is Funny ...lol As some of you look down on the CIAA!! A Lot of them look down on the MEAC!!
In 1978 the gridiron battle between the two teams evolved into the Florida Classic. Sadly, today's game comes three days after the death of former FAMU athletic director Hansel Tookes, who created the Florida Classic.
The Classic was initially played in Tampa. In 1997, the game relocated to the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando and picked up Walt Disney World as a major sponsor. Game attendance topped 71,200 in 2006.

^^^FAMU and Bethune-Cookman are the only football-playing HBCUs in this state. The other two, up-and-coming Florida Memorial University (Miami) and Edward Waters College (Jacksonville), are in Division II.

Side Note: How many different halftime shows will the band put on this year at home? Could you see a different show each week with the Norfolk, FAMU, and SCSU games.? Heck fans might complain if they see the same show with Wva State and VUL.

I don't know if they will or not but they will get plenty of practice time in front of the home folks before heading off to NYC for Thanksgiving.
