I beleive more North Carolina friday night high school game students and good football players would attend, but the past early start of admissions university day and football games are too early. Aville, I agree the University day is early, but speaking from experience logistically it would be hard to do a late University Day. Gameday operations require the work of multiple departments and pushing University Day back even 2 hours would be a mess. Sidenote: A&T doesn't realize how powerful University day is. I can remember being sold on UNC-Chapel-Hill from birth. I was dead set on being a Tarheel and nobody could tell me otherwise. I went to one A&T University Day with a high school group and it changed my life, literally ...

So since NCCU and SCSU are our designated rivals. What happens if another school designates A&T has a rival? University day is an excellent marketing tool.

I could be incorrect in my assumption, but I think that designating another conference school as a " permanent rival" has to be reciprocal...

I agree 100% these 1:30 starts are way to early for those of us who have to work on saturdays. Given the number of home games with some on back to back weekends it is difficult to get off that many times at 1:00 . It just makes sense to play at 6 in sept, 4 in oct. This provides to opportunty to make some money and bring our families to the games. We just went through this in basketball season with the early starts,. Will anyone listen to the fans and alums? i've been singing that exact song for several years, especially regarding basketball! i agree with you 100%! especially for loyal season ticket holding alums like myself who have to put in a 5 hour drive to get to aggie stadium from home. for me, the difference between 1:30pm starts versus 6pm starts means leaving home at 7am in the morning versus leaving at 11am in the morning. and on saturday mornings, who wouldn't want an extra "4 hours of sleep" before hitting the road for a 5 hour drive? i'd support any drive to open the eyes of our admins to start our saturday football and basketball games at a later time. matter of fact, somebody "pm" me mr. hilton's email address and i'll be glad to send him one expressing exactly that...

I could be incorrect in my assumption, but I think that designating another conference school as a " permanent rival" has to be reciprocal... i have the exact same "assumption". i mean, if dsu proclaimed a&t their permanent rival, i'm sure we wouldn't want to be locked into dsu's preference. i'm thinking permanent rival designations must be "mutually" agreed to by both institutions...

I could be incorrect in my assumption, but I think that designating another conference school as a " permanent rival" has to be reciprocal... I’m not so sure about that assumption. This 2011 article about Norfolk’s schedule suggests that their permanent rivals are Hampton and A&T. hamptonroads.com/2011/08/norfolk-state-football-preview-schedule-switcherooPerhaps asking the question on the MEAC Fan Zone can clear things up.

The university should at least make a trip to the DMV once a year, since it is probably A&T's greatest alumni presence outside of NC.

Someone is just misinformed. We have Norfolk's coach saying the permanent games are based on distance. If that was the case their permanent rival would NOT be A&T. It would be Hampton and NCCU. I thiink he was mistaken as to why A&T was still on his schedule. We are not the closest 2(not since NCCU has joined. I think he overlooked that) nor have we declared them a rival. Norfolk will be removed down the line, which is disappointing because its a decently attended game by Aggies.
Done by distance: NSU - NCCU and Hampton. Howard - Delaware and Morgan . A&T - NCCU and South Carolina State. Delaware - Howard and Morgan State NCCU - A&T and NSU BCU - Savannah and FAM FAM - BCU and Savannah Savannah - BCU and SCSU Morgan - Howard and Delaware SCSU - A&T and Savannah Hampton - NSU and Howard
And I dont know, but what game is bigger? Howard/Delaware or Howard/Hampton? Thats another reason not to do it by distance. Deleware is closer, but come on now. I think the distance formula works because rivals are normally close, but the Howard/Hampton might be an exception.

Sidenote: Which rivalry is bigger Aggie Eagle Classic, or the Battle for the real HU?
Ive never attended the latter, but I have heard it gets pretty dirty up there especially during a football game.

I thinks SCSU considers us and FAMU there rivals, with BCU being third.
I think we are the popular kids, everybody wants to play us.

If we are talking about football only, it's the Florida Classic and then everybody else. Not even close...
