LOL...Aggie Monster very true statement but right now he is somewhere in between in that 4.6 range and I think we have some 4.6 guys on our team as well

First, welcome to the board. Always good to see brothers with football knowledge participate. You'll soon find out around recruiting/signing day time that I am totally against the "official" 40-time, . The younger the player the more I dont trust it. I think its a very unfair way to judge athletes that dont have the same resources available to them(speed coaches, etc). So while I feel ya, Quick was quick. Our DBs were slower than Big Quick and little quick, LOL. Hopefully Coastal wont have a QB/WR combo like that. If the throws weren't so crisp our DB's might have been able to close, but when the throw is fast, low, and tight AND the WR is fast(as APP was) its a tough cover.

The game was on the FCS ATLANTIC channel AND after Watching it. IT WAS JUST TO many MISTAKES MADE. Corners acted like they were lost. Poor open field tackling. QB had an easy TD on that pick 6 if he had thrown to the back he could have walked into the end zone.
We just looked slow at LB & CB, They acted like they had no I-dear what to do, poor Tackling a lot of that. DL's play was OK even App States coach said that the DL was given them a lot of trouble because of there quickness .

this has got to be the most scrutinized 52 point loss in aggie football history. folks, we heard the coach. he said we were out manned, out coached, and out played, period, point blank, end of discussion, it came from the coach's mouth, what else needs to be said, can we move on please. i mean, i've really enjoyed the dialogue. a lot of the comments have indeed been on point, informative, astute, and specific. but i think broadway summed it up quite well. we loss because of a combination of several reasons. now its about can we grow from this, heal, and get better. i think we can and i also think we will...

saabman, just looking at the stats you posted, it appears their qb's do a lot of running the football. assuming hillary is their starting qb, he had "16” carries (that's rb's numbers), picked up 61 yards and 2 td's against furman. apparently, childers is their backup qb and he had 7 carries for 38 yards (5.43 yards per carry) against furman.
so their qb's statistics for rushing the ball are actually better than their rb's. that begs to question what kind of offense do they run? they don't appear to put the ball in the air a lot but their completion percentage is impressive. hillary completed 77% of his passes against furman (10 of 13) for 130 yards. childers completed 55% of his passes against furman (5 of 9) for 65 yards.
so i haven't checked the score against furman, but either they have a two headed monster at qb or they blew out furman which allowed the backup a lot of playing time...

They have a weak running game, Stop that we can control the game. Their receivers run a lot of stop and go sideline up routs, nothing in the middle of the field ( espn.go.com/ncf/drivechart?gameId=312530324). If we control the run and with good play from the from the DB's. We can win this game.

That last 20 seconds was some of the funniest coach commentary I've seen in a while. He need to be at a big time school just so I can see him on ESPN. "We need more Daaawwwgs!" ROFL

i agree, saabman. i haven't looked at any of coastal carolina's videos yet, but i will. yet, i have a "gut" feeling that we're gonna beat them. i mean, i know i may sound crazy for saying i came away from the app state game feeling very "encouraged" about moving forward on our schedule, but that's how i felt. and the d-line has provided "new hope" on the season for me.
i mean, we've also got to remember, our coaches are brand new and have implemented brand new schemes with personnel they're not tremendously familiar with. our players are executing brand new schemes that they're not tremendously familiar with. so when i think about our app state performance, not only did we not have has as many scholarship players as app state did, but we were executing new schemes with new coaches who had new players for only the 2nd game, "ever". app state's guys and coaches have been together "forever" compared to us.
yet, our offense still demonstrated excellent "balance" against app state. we had about 168 yards passing and about the exact same number of yards rushing. if we can pass and run the football equally well against one of the top teams in the country in app state, there's zero doubt in my mind that we can run and pass the ball even more so against any team in the meac. and, if app state couldn't run the football down the throats of our d-line in the first half (like several teams did us last year), then i'm inclined to believe our defense can "contain" (not shut down) any rushing attack in the meac.
so i'm hyped about our chances against coastal carolina. after playing app state, ya know our guys won't be intimidated by coastal at all and will probably be very confident in themselves. plus, with two games under their belts and two weeks to prepare for coastal, injuries thoroughly healing due to the bye week, the fact that our guys will be much more comfortable with both our offensive and defensive schemes, and don't forget we have the home field advantage! that's why i think we're gonna beat coastal carolina and shock every team in the meac...

You would think GA would have an axe to grind with loses in the first 2 weeks (especially after they mopped the field up with SC and still lost). Of course what works for Ga will not necessarily work for A&T. But we can see how they respond to different formations
