Then # 29 needs to step up his game. It's not like the old days when you sign your scholarship your 4 years are Guaranteed. Now it's a year by year Evaluation . So if his play doesn't show improvement he may come up short on the scholarship funds next year!!

# 29 is name Donald Mattocks frm Eastern Alamance played a lot of outside LB in High School. I stated last week that he played soft. I think he just need to be coach up, but when you lose corners like Quay Long , Graham both shut down corners. Its just so hard to overcome and plus we are playing the numbers game. Lets look at the season as who wants to play and want to come back next year.......

At Saabman...From my understanding he's not on scholarship, he was a walk on from last year..He seems lost out there and T.Webb is no better..He gets beat like he stole something too..At least he's not playing quarterback this year !!!

I don't know if that's so great. Statistically Webb was 18-34 for 228 yards with 3 tds and 0 picks. Given the coaching he had, them's pretty good numbers to me.
In my opinion he wasn't handled properly by the previous staff. They hooked him too quick against Winston, and kept playing musical qb all year. Killed his confidence, didn't coach him up, and didn't let him get much needed experience. If you put him behind center playing for Winston or App we'd be over here in Greensboro wondering why we can't get a good qb like that. Instead we're complaining because he's not a good db. How 'bout he shouldn't be back there in the first place?

I think his back up is you, and I'm third string.
From what I heard (and you can take that for what it's worth, which ain't much) Pizzo wasn't too thrilled with Webb's ability to pick up the offense or something like that. My thinking is there's too much potential there to just throw him to another position.
He's on at least his third offensive coordinator and third position since he's been in Greensboro. How good could you possibly expect him to be in one spring? If Kindle had gone through all the same mess, he wouldn't be so great either. It just so happens Kindle has had the luxury of exclusively playing qb since he was like 10.
Point blank, I don't want to criticize this staff, but putting a qb and a lb in the defensive backfield cannot be our best option. I remember over the summer people remarking how many dbs we had. What happened?

In the press conf. he mention Ricky Lewis as the backup QB. But he did not sound confident.

He still young, just can't go off 1 game! lol, I would tend to agree. Man I thought I was a tough critic. I didn't actually see the VUL game and he didn't play at App, so I have no comment.

We have moved QBs to the defensive backfield but never to corner, I have found that most ex -QBs make better Safetys because they can see the hold field . But never good corners. Corner is a hard position to learn on the fly. It's almost like you have to have played it your hold life as with QBs

Man some of yall be killing me at times with all this Sunday morning quarterbacking and most of you never played a down football in your life just sitting in the stands of games hatin talking about what you could have done if you were giving a chance or living off what you did in high school what you fail to recognize is if you were down on field playing it would be one of two things first you would look just like kids who are playing or you would look much worst I tend to believe it’s the second option. What you all fail to realize or just plain ignore is that besides up front every position on the field you have to be coached up. You can take your o line and d line for the MOST PART and who ever has the biggest and STRONGEST interior will dominant that part of the game with little technique period point blank. It is the same thing every year with some of you always complaining about the players maybe it’s the coaching or the scheme. You say he was playing soft so since I did not see the game I am going to assume he was playing off so how or what was he coached in practice? The coaches film every practice if he was playing “soft” how come it wasn’t corrected in PRACTICE before the game. Or maybe it’s the scheme and all you see is the db maybe it was some type of cover 3 buzz where the corner has deep third and a lb or safety has the underneath routes you don’t know I don’t know so leave the kids alone DAMN….they are not professionals they are doing what they are coached to do start talking about who is teaching the technique you do not like yeah they may have their schooling paid for I ask you aggiepride1985 and saabman what you so mad at did you get cut from the walk on tryouts and feel that you are better than the kids who are playin did you have to pay for your school and you cant pay back your student loans and you are mad at that world just stop….you can have so called 5 star athletes come in and they will look the same as the dbs that are playing now. Db’s wr and especially qb are crafty positions you have to be coached you can not use what you were learned in high school at this level I broke it up now hopefully it is easier to read now!
