Boy, you spell about as bad as I do.
BTW: I did find it interesting that, when talking about the returning O-Linemen, Fobbs mentioned only Desmoine Ware and didn't say anything about Sagote, who arguably was his best lineman in 06.

Spencer Spane..TE..Didnt want to put it out there, but the interview has already been done. Even if some of the guys that you're not all that excited about arent currently on the team, theres no way that we can compete by only having 3 weeks in camp to teach new players a new system and terminology. If we dont have experienced players, we need experienced coaches to sort of balance things out and making adjustments on the fly. Wayne Campbell is not even in summer school right now. Nor OL Sagote, who needs it to be eliegle None of that really bothers me because many of last year's recruits were "do the best you can" guys anyway. As far as the assistant coaches go, I agree we could do better. Fobbs will learn one way or the other. I expected some players to leave or be ineligible simply because we lost every game. The three weeks of camp are good enough to get the defense ready. That is THE most important phase of the game that has to be better to me. Two months and counting ...

I just hope Fobbs runs off all the players like japan who are not buying into his system. You will never win if your own players are not willing to fight for you.

I would prefer they bought into his system. Running players off ultimately isn't good for the coach, the player or the program. What if Japan has a 6'5" 280lb little brother that runs a verified 4.9 forty into gale force winds and wants to go where his brother played? What if Japan is a head coach down east 10 years from now and refuses to send any of his kids to A&T. I have seen that happen. Fobbs' @ss will be gone and we'll be stuck with the hell we allowed to be wrought.
I ain't saying it'll happen, I'm just saying "what if?"

Being a malcontent and sewing seeds of dissension doesn't do anyone any good.
I rather have Fobbs sink or swim these next 3 years with guys who are going to give him 100 percent.

I think you missed my point.

I ain't saying it'll happen, I'm just saying "what if?" What if... what if you just lay off Fobbs for awhile and give the guy a chance. He inherited a F__up system as a result of previous bad coaching choices, but seems to be doing his damn-est to make something good happen at the "T". Let's start hearing/reading some positives... some support, for a change!

Didn't Spane drop a sure touchdown in the Howard game? Except for that I can't think of anything that would make me say d#$@ we need that kid. Had not heard about Sagote. That could be a bad loss. Have to check on that one, last I heard he was coming back. Either way I agree with Thrilla, we need players that are with Fobbs and want to give everything they can for his system, whether we agree with it or not.

Unless we win a National Championship every year, I think some people here will always find a reason to badmouth the head coach ... whoever it is.
I bet some of these same former players and alums who are now bashing Fobbs and acting like Small was a great football guru, were criticiizing Small when he ran Darren Hart out of Greensboro just because he didn't get along with Alonzo Lee.
Darren Hart was the consumate "players coach" and our best recruiter ... but Small felt that he didn't fully buy into his system so he told him to kick rocks. The very next year he was over at Central with Bill Hayes.
Likewise, players left the team en masse every year when Hayes was coaching here too. Just because you experience some offseason personell loses doesn't mean you are a bad coach.

Uh, Econgrad, where did I "lay on" Fobbs in the first place? I gave a hundred bucks I didn't have to give to help his a$$ recruit when he hasn't done anything that warrants me giving a dime.
You need to understand something. Regardless of what I or anybody else says on a message board Fobbs has "his chance." He inherited a collegiate head coaching job at the only school in America that was ever going to offer him one at a salary he felt he could live with. His predecessors and his replacements will all do their "damn-est" (sic) to make something good happen at "T" whether or not we kiss their a$$ or kick it.
We are still the worst team in I-AA at least until we play Winston. Until then exactly what positives are you expecting to read from me? I ain't positive or negative. I've practically divorced myself from the situation and I try to look at it objectively. If that bothers you I apologize but the point stil remains that stating "I ain't saying it'll happen, I'm just saying 'what if?'" doesn't warrant the response you gave.
As for Hart, we let him go under the guise of not needing him and look at us and look at Central now. That's the "what if" I'm talking about. Don't misunderstand me, if kids have made up their mind I don't expect a coach to cater to their every desire. I'm just saying you never know how these things will turn out. If that means I'm bashing the coach then I'm bashing the coach.

An active player should never come on a Internet message board and bash their own head coach. Especially, when they don't even have the guts to say who they are ... or better yet bring up their complaints to the coach himself, in a closed-door meeting.
Sorry, but that is just cowardly in my book. You will never succeed in sports, business or anything if you make a habit out of bashing your superiors behind their back.
Those kind of players will never be part of a championship roster. I think it is in their best interest and the school's best interest for them to just transfer to a program they have confidence in.

That's good to know. In my opinion, he was one of our best lineman in 06.

Whew! We need to stop it with the mis-information. Can someone give the projected starters on the offensive line?
