Well, do we have anything good coming out of spring camp, besides Q. Long feeling disrespected? What's up with the defensive and offensive lines?

Offensively we are probably going to be better than we have been the last two years because Broadway brought in a better OL coach in Keith Wagner and we have a lot of experience, more depth and size up front. Moving the ball should not be a problem.
Defensively, the front four is pretty solid with a year of playing time under their belts with the freshmen (now sophs) who stepped in and started a year ago especially at tackle with Hamlet and Isles, a couple of good sized kids with height and speed, but we have to develop a second line and a couple of backups behind them.

Well, did the offensively lineman (freshmant) that was moved to defensively last year go back to offense or did he stay on the defensive side? He seemed like he'd be a monster of a tackle but, he had a lot of learning to do at defensive tackle.

Kev tells me they put him back on offense which tells me they found someone to fill that hole beside Hamlet.

Yeah, they put "Big Nate" back on the OL. Yesterday Raper looked very good running the ball during scrimmage and he was running behind "Big Nate". He broke a couple of long runs and nobody could come close to catching him. T. Cole looked good running the ball also.

What about DBs and LBs. How are they looking?

I know that J. Ferrell DB and D. Graham DB are in spring ball but I'm not sure who the other DB's are. As far as LB's, I don't know any names. I did talk to CJ Fredrick RB out at practice yesterday and he stated that he will be playing in the fall. He stated that you "can count on it". He looks as if he has been living in the weight room, he stated that he now weighs 205lb. This is good news but only if we actually see him out there in the fall. There was also a kid out at practice yesterday that stated that he will be on the team in the fall. He is transferring from some JR College, don't know which one. He says that he is from Ashville and that he plays TE and DE. He is about 6'4" 230lb. The kid is a physical specimen . Don't have any news on all the other props and red shirts.

As I stated before, the 44 limit gets a little too much ink. Broadway is smart. He's been in this situation before at NCCU, and at Grambling. He learned how to adjust from Hayes on finding players, he's won conference titles with and without him as AD is the real big dog in HBCU football, and he left Grambling with a strong recruiting class and a excellent APR to boot.
Give him a year and the results will speak for itself.

Having CJ on the team next year will be a great boost for us....that is one talented group.
I am predicting now that if all the stars (and players) line up offensively, we could be extremely tough!
Maybe I am geeked because it is spring time.......

Any new info from spring practice? The practices are still being ran more organized than in years past and they are doing drills that are much more effective(in my opinion). Anyone who has seen or heard about previous years practices would be much more impressed with this years spring practice. I have no doubt it will continue and the results will show on the field come Fall.

I missed the scrimmage on Saturday morning. Did any of you attend and how did they look?

we better find a "quality" backup for kindle by opening day or else we may find ourselves in the same situation we were in last year if kindle goes down for an extended period of time...

i don't think it'll take this coaching staff 6 games into the season to get the offense going, with or without kindle. i hope we come into the season healthy in all...but that's what make good coaches good...they adjust! i didn't see many adjustments out of our former coaching staff...sorry!
