I wonder if Don King is reading these posts, he might have an event to promote What's done, is done. I am looking forward and not in the rearview mirror. There will be plenty of time to critique Coach Fobbs and his coaching staff come September until then I will be laughing at these crazy posts.

Haha..Im not saying that I dont respect you guys opinions with regards too football, in fact I respect and appreciate everything that BDF has done for Aggie Football and Aggie Athletics. Dooms, you say youre a lawyer...I watch Matlock and Perry Mason on tv, and can comment on what i woulda, shoulda, and coulda done as the lawyer of a certain case..Without being in that situation and knowing the ins and outs of the legal system, im just like anyone else, a self taught person offering my uneducated comments about the case.... Someone who has never played football, could probably not be able to tell you the difference between cover 1 and cover 4 while a play is being run. Alot of you talk about our db's getting burnt this yr, but if you knew the game and looked at some of the coverages we were in a particular times, it was downright ridiculous and middleschoolish. Our defensive ends were constantly (see Bethune game) being sent to the wrong gaps and had absolutley NO idea how to defend the option. This is all coaching. BC has run the option for countless yrs with success, and I dont know why in the world we had the defensive scheme that we did. This is d1aa ffootball, hell..the MEAC has some great coaching minds, and we're basically taking HS coaches and a lifetime position coaches and expect to win against Joe Taylor and Wyatt....Im not saying that you guys who've never played the game dont know whats going on, but when you watch a game, watch more than the ball. Our defensive plays, whoever called them, were constantly late getting in...and you absolutley cant do that with an 18 year old freshman as your defensive captain and signal caller...and Aggie Monster..Im not even entertaining your comments.. On a side note...Like it or not..That so hard to be Ram video brought back some great memories of being part of a collegiate football team. Any time you get 50 18-24 year olds together, its gonna get wild..whether it be an athletic team, frat, chess club or anything.....Not saying its right though..If you havent ran 17 110's, been through a 2/3 a day camp in over 100 degree heat, sat in a film session for 3 hrs...then please, please, please, dont try to sit here and equate yourself to Steven A Smith or some sports commentator. You just wouldnt understand...and I dont expect you too. I'm an attorney. If you bother to read the threads you'll see where most everybody that posted anything agreed that the coaching was suspect. I had no problem with the ram film. All that being typed, it still doesn't address the fact that if a kid breaks team rules he's going to have to pay pennance if you want to have any semblance of order and discipline on your team. Again, I don't know what happened, I don't know what Fobbs' team rules are, I wouldn't have done the same thing were I Fobbs, but WHOSE TEAM IS IT? It's Fobbs' team and he makes the rules. Wil knew the rules, he broke them, he paid the price. All the remaining players can do is respect it and abide by the rules or transfer or quit.

Actually, jaffe is right about Montray Jackson. He was an absolute freak of nature. Dude could wake up out of the bed and run a 4.3.
If Small would have known how to utilize his talent we could have won at least six games that last year.
I think what may have hurt his pro stock were concerns from NFL scouts about his neck injury.

I feel the need to comment because you keep referencing my Steven A Smith comment. I knew Steve played college ball. I also knew that you would bring that up and make my point. Steve did NOT play pro ball, but he critiques pro athletes.
I'm not even going to run off my credentials like A's Daddy did because I dont need a "Football Analyst Pass" handed out to me from a kid. Let's just say part of my job is to look at football talent.
Like Dooms said, all this doesn't change our initial point. There is no excuse for someone cussing out the coach.

If Small would have known how to utilize his talent we could have won at least six games that last year. I think what may have hurt his pro stock were concerns from NFL scouts about his neck injury. He never recovered psychologically from the neck injury. He did not explode into tackles and scouts were able to see that on film. Thats the reason why he did not make it to the next level. When it's all said and done and the 40 time is over and the bench press is history, you still got to get it done on film. The eye in the sky don't lie...

Thank you 4XL. I think too many people on this board get wrapped up in 40 times and how a player's physique looks. Scouts are also concerned with how a player uses those skills on the field. Yes Jack was a freak but he couldn't get it done on the field. Rickie Lewis and Chamar Milton were able to make plays on the field but did not have the attributes that other players have. The NFL is the best of the best and scouts need to see guys that offer both in order to invest in them. Sure you will have a guy that will get picked just because he impresses at the combines but that is usually a guy from a power conference with more competition then the MEAC could ever offer and that guy will be picked in the later rounds, battling to make it on special teams. All in all 40 time does not equal chance in the NFL. Period.

4XL is right on point about Jackson and holdum is correct on what makes a guy a serious pro prospect.
On the other topic about putting players off a team. Its no different than running your own home. I know that might be okay a lot of the younger folks on this board who endorse this "new world stuff" where anything goes and you push the evenlope with that "show me some respect" line or I have the right to challenge you nose to nose and what not.
I love her to death, but my daughter tried that mess with me one time when she started high school ......just once.......lights out.
I don't care who the player is or what they can do on the field, no coach worth a damn should ever tolerate keeping a player on a squad after mouthing off to either him or his staff under any circumstances.

Good fathers and father figures don't cut loose the child or young person who did the offending and after emoitions have cooled down you make an appropriate punishment.
Last year was a learning experience for everyone. I hope the football program will be better for it in the coming future.
So lets look forward to August and then in September......football!!!!

Hey guys this is my first time visting the site and I think its cool to have a forum for Aggie football. I moved from Greensboro in 2000, so its a little hard to keep up with all the news. So keep the info coming.
p.s. DOOMS, Im James White (elizabeth city nc) 5'8 1/2 (don't forget the half) 90-93. When it came to football I had always been underestimated.

Not always man. I was probably your biggest fan on campus. I was hoping you'd get drafted.
My roommate off campus was Earl Beasley so I know a lil bit about EC.
Hey man, completely off topic but help a brutha out. In that Howard game in '93 what was up with calling two pass plays in a row? Why didn't we just give you the ball? I lost 100 bucks on that game.

Believe me jazz, I didn't cut her loose then and would never cut her loose now but I made damn sure that line was never to be crossed again. Athletics are not life and death so putting a attitude problem off the team ain't gonna make or wreck any rational person's hopes and dreams long term.
IMO, If you let that type of mess slide even once, parent or coach, you are just inviting disaster and heading done a slippery slope to a lot of irreversible heartache and grief for both you and them further down the road.

I was talking about suspending a senior for his last two games after a heated argument. If the player apologized to the coaches and team and has been a model citizen up to that point then I think a one game suspension may have been enough. But I was not there so I'm throwing in my one cent.

We also don't know what Fobbs policy is when it concerns matters of this nature. Then again, I guess we do know based on the action. With that being said, no tolerance is no tolerance...
