We dislike him because he "Tall and skinny"??. Man listen to what you are saying sometimes. That's completely ridiculous. No one dislikes Carter. We having a QB debate. Dont act like a Pop Warner parent defending their kid.

Carter had 53 yards passing in 4 quarters against Savannah State.
Let me say that again: Carter had a grand total of 53 yards through the air ... with weapons like Bell, Leslie and Malik Wilson at his disposal.
But on the bright side, he also had a team-high 93 yards on the ground and one rushing touchdown.
Those are the kind of stats you would expect from the starting quarterback at Georgia Tech or the Naval Academy.

I've said this in another thread, but 2019 is about preparing for a 2020 campaign, that could completely legitimize Aggie Football as a FCS not just HBCU power.
With that being typed, I'm cool going with Fowler and Ifedi in a true QB battle over the first few regular season weeks and seeing who seizes control of the offense. I think this route could still win T another MEAC title in process while also preparing us for dominating NDSU and putting FCS landscape on notice.
I'm sure however the whole loyalty thing will play a huge role in the coaches decision. Kind of a double edge sword, you want to show kids you are behind them as well as respecting kids that persevere for the program.
Well see I guess

2019 is not about preparing for 2020.
2019 is about winning in 2019.
ND State might not even be a top 5 team when we play them in 2020.
You are the only person on this site who is willing to sacrifice an entire season just to prepare for a non-conference road game the following year.
Please stop. The entire premise is utterly ridiculous.

Bottom line, Carter has winning associated with him regardless. It is ridiculous to be debating his capabilities.

This program has lost only 2 games in the last 2 years. Everybody who was on the roster during that span has winning associated with them.

Let's step back and take a deep breath and be thankful we have QB options this fall. Hell I remember the years we were hoping some mystery QB would show up for our first game.
This year will not be record breaking but we'll be okay. And no matter who our QB is this season we will still be arguing about it next summer.

When Fall practice starts Carter will have full clearance; he still will have a red jersey on just like all the QB's but I dont think he we be practicing the QB up the middle draw play. Like Coach said its Carter's job to loose. Last year he was a change of pace QB / relief QB and he was able to execute a passing game. The spring game if nothing else gave us a look at the offence which appeared to be a little more pass focused. I dont think Carter will be given the same game play sheet he ran last year (roughly half of his plays a QB draw).
Bottom line had Carter been 100% healthy Coach would have expected Carter to look better than Fowler or Ifedi running the same playbook. I am confident he can!!!

Carter played quarterback in both games we lost during that span. without carter, we "lose" the scsu, ecu, and kent state games! raynard "started" in all three of those games (except scsu, quick started that game) and we would've "loss" all three had it not been for carter. again, scsu and ecu and kent state are "top competition", ssu ain't...
