BDV.com has just learned from a source close to the athletic department that A&T special teams coach/quarterback coach/passing game coordinator Dwike Wilson was given a pink slip by Fobbs this past Thursday.
That came just one day after A&T announced its biggest recruiting class in the last five years.
BTW: Wilson also served as the recruiting coordinator and reportedly was directly responsible for signing at least eight of the incoming players.
We are not yet sure what the official reason for this decision was, but we will definitely investigate. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

It's funny how he was given the heave-ho a day after signing day, and not the day, or week before ..
Unless something crazy happened, he should have fired him right after the season so that he could have a chance to look for another gig. Another Shame on You Fobbs Moment in Black History.

The timing of this move was definitely strange. I think the athletic department should make a statement explaining the staff change.
Since Dwike was the recruiting coordinator, I am sure alot of players and their families will be suprised to learn he is no longer employed at A&T, just one day after he convinced them to sign with us.

Aggie Family<
The firing of Coach Wilson is another reflection of why Coach Fobbs should be removed as soon as possible. He is the worst. The young man was fired without any prior meetings or consultations. Hell, how do you fire anybody when you havent won a game in 2 years. The old statement, "the team takes on the personality of the coach" means something here. If you attended the signing day social you understand what I mean. Fobbs displayed NO excitement or swagger of any kind. He couldnt motivate me to eat!!!

Hold up a minute. Did I miss something? Didn't everyone scream how bad Wilson was as quarterback and special teams coach and he needed to be let go now you guys are crawling Fobbs because he just did what you wanted?
I would advise all each of you to wait and see what Wheeler has to say about this before ya'll go nuts.

Hamwalker, we must have been a two different Signing Day Parties. Fobbs seemed very happy with the caliber of players he was able to bring in this year. He let Ray do most of the player introductions last Wednesday but you could tell that Fobbs was really satisfied. Which makes it even more curious why he felt to need to give his recruiting coordinator the axe the very next day.

Actually, that's exactly the reason you should fire people. You put together a staff to help you win football games. If you are not confident that your assistant coaches are giving you the best chance to be successful, you need to Spacely Sprocket their azzes and bring in somebody better.
The operative word here is better. I hope Fobbs makes a wise decision on Dwikes' replacement. We definitely need someone who can shore up our abysmal special teams. I assume McKenzie will take over the quarterback coaching duties.
