I think there are some things going on inside that no one knew about. From what I see he is a good recruiter but he didn't put this class together by himself. You guys are talking like he recruited all of the kids. Ive talked to the guy before and he makes me want to start singing an old negro spiritual. So who knows why he was let go and who cares as long as this move makes us better.

Which old negro spiritual did he want to make you sing?
As far as his relative, I do believe Coach Small's nephew stuck around after we totally unceremoniously tossed his uncle aside. Few people are going to give up a free education because they cousin didn't pan out.
I agree, the timing was crap. But so were the special teams and quarterbacking. A head coach has to make cutthroat decisions unfortunately. Fobbs made one. Only a few people know why.
Hamwalking, what was the last job they fired you from where they gave you consulations or warnings? If Dwike was reading this web page and the stats of every unit he's been responsible for, what other warning did he need? I feel for him like Chaka Khan feel for you, but he'll land on his feet. And probably with a better paying job.

The man sucked at what he did. I would have fired him myself. Fobbs might have been told to fire him. Like someone else said, "He didn't recruit the entire class himself". Recruiting coordinator doesn't mean you do all the scouting and all the visiting. You do exactly as the title says, You Coooooooordinate. Bang, bang bang.........I couldn't help myself. Coordinator does stuff like keep the files of all possible recruits, keeps track of who's going where as far as the other coaching staff, who close to committing and who isn't. They are not the only ones visiting high schools and talking to kids.
"See ya, wouldn't want to be ya" is all I have to say after looking at our QB's habits the last 2 years.
And you dont fire someone and leave yourself in a bad situation. You fire them after they finish something you told them to do. For example: "hey kid take out that trash for me." After he takes the trash out your lock the door behind him. Thats exactly what Fobbs did. This is business.

Aggie Family, Do not be impressed by Coach Fobbs move to fire Dwike Wilson. If you truly understand the entire circumstance you will know Fobbs is a coward. And I say it with great passion. Understand, there is a lot of background issues going on here in our program. For example, Fobbs out right lie about the hiring of the OC. Why front, everyone knows he's been there for 2 weeks at least. Please break down the program: Coach Fobbs was listed as the OC but Kenny Ray called the plays. And some of his play calling was the worst in he history of football. Defense played hard, but they gave up points forever. Our team sucks because Coach Fobb sucks, real talk. Why fire the QB coach who never calls a play??? Who only has 2 players to work with??? and by the way we didnt have a special teams coord., it was a title but each coach, coached a part of the special team unit. Based on the Howard game (on-side kicks) someone should have been fired then. We have too much faith in Fobbs. Honestly, some of his own staff members dont trust him....thats why you have people looking for jobs in other areas. The resumes for Adams, Ray, and Oliver are clearly in the hands of other teams.

No biggie. If I was a coach and my team was coming off back to back 0’fers, my resume would be floating out there too.

Ham,
If you were a coach for an 0-22 team wouldn't you be looking else-where? It's a dog eat dog business. Plus, why should we believe what you're saying? You could be just another disgruntled employee. We know things aren't perfect in the program, but we don't want to be doing anything to undermine their efforts either. All you've stated is things that have already been discussed.
Hell, if I were the head coach, it would be hard for me to trust anybody under these circumstances. For everthing you sad that was bad, I can name some good or improvement compared to the 06 season. Sure there are going to be questionable play calls. It happens to all teams. It's a guessing game, trying to catch the other team off guard. We still had a 1000 yard rusher when some top teams didn't. I try to give credit where credit is due.
Remember, Fobbs is just the head coach. There is an entire staff of people in the program that we're holding accountable.

I just believe that he had to do something. If you go 0-22 and dont make any changes you look like...........uuuummmmm............ you look like G.W. Bush! "Stay The Course".
Bringing in a OC without announcing it officially is no big deal either(in my mind). Who is he suppose to tell, a bunch of fans that have been dogging him for 2 years? As long as the AD approved the hire then what's the big deal with that?
3rd, why would you take a title that you are not the "master of"? If you name me the special teams coach then you better damn well bet that I will be front and center during all special teams drills foaming at the mouth from cussing everybody out. I will be the last word aside from the head coach when it comes to special teams. If you dont let me do that then take the title off my name because my name will not be linked to this garbage. If he/you/whoever wasn't smart or brave enough to do or say that then once again, you might not deserve the shot anyway. You say Fobbs doesn't have balls, but its really the person that doesn't speak up for himself that doesn't have balls. If I'm the ST coach then let me run it my way or I'm not doing it.
I'm not even going to get started on our QBs skills. All I heard was "they do everything right in practice". That dont mean nothing! Those kids(QBs) showed no signs of a good(not even average) QB coach during the games. They showed little knowledge of basic techniques that I see good high school coaches these days teaching kids. Not once did I see them make the right audible on an obvious blitz. They didn't seem to know when to eat it, force it, or throw it away based on the game situation. I've never been that impressed with Miller, but he would have performed better if certain thiings were drilled in his head correctly.

I agree with you Gator. We all know how lazy A&T can be. I would bet the OC has been hired without all the paper work going in. If thats the case then he can't be officially named yet. So relax and lets see how it goes. At least he has accepted the fact that he needs help. Ham sounds like he has some bitter feelings. It even sound like he might be the one this page is talking about. Just curious not sure!

McKenzie has already been named the OC and reportedly all the players are excited about having him on the staff.

RANDOM THOUGHTS ON THIS THREAD
I don't know if Coach Fobbs lied or not, that's on him. He wouldn’t be the first.
I don’t think a lot of fans have faith in Coach Fobbs, except maybe Gator! ;D ;D Let take a count: Who has faith that Coach Fobbs can turn it around?
Coach Fobbs can fire who he wants, when he wants, unfortunately he's at least a year late, and the cut wasn't deep enough.
If an OC was been hired that a serious lack of respect to the fans and donors not to make a public announcement of this magnitude at this point in time. Because it says you don’t need to know what we are doing. It’s as if the leadership is trying to hide something. Are they ashame of this guy? What is wrong with a simple press release, nobody says you have to have a full blown press conference (who would come?). This is another missed opportunity to build interest in a seriously faltering program.
What if hamwalker is disgruntled, that doesn’t change the truth, only helps identify the motives. %$#@, I’m disgruntled.
