We will not win in Atl without a passing attack...Elon had 8 in the box almost the entire game. I agree...even though SCSU got thumped by Coastal 30-3! LOL

I can't help but wonder if the threat of Quick running helps Cohen to get some of those yards. Maybe about 10 of them, lol. But seriously, even though Quick still struggles to pass, the defense has to be very conscious of his running ability. Key too much on Cohen and Quick's drinking a coke with a cheerleader waiting to hold on an extra point. On the other hand, if we had somebody back there that could pass more accuarately, the defense would have to back up a smidgen to account for that. If Quick becomes more accurate and the receivers hang onto more balls, lookout! Quick looked very decent passing the ball in the 4th quarter. Those completions helped us ink this one out. I dislike the slow improvement of the passing game but i am thankful that it is improving. Eventually, those short passes will turn into open and completed mid-range and deep passes.

Coastal beat SC St 30-3 That says a lot about this Aggie ball club. I think we will be ready for MEAC play South Carolina State has an anemic offense. They had a sluggish start against Benedict on offense.

Lol.. Look at total yards passing...which leads to 50% more yards per pass

We are a top 15-20 team looking for a QB.......I'm glad we won, but Quick has been in this offense for 3 years. You cannot be this bad a passer in year 3. We won't win an MEAC championship like this. Teams like Morgan, Del St, and Hampton are gonna find ways to beat us if Quick doesn't step it up.
I give Elon credit for scratching and clawing the whole way, but we're 3 TDs better than them....until you factor in Quick and his passing.
Again, I'm proud of the team for fighting their way through.....but it's getting to the point now where the QB position is really gonna cost us some victories down the road. This isn't about playcalling anymore - this is about finding just an average QB to lead us. Quick hasn't even been average.
I'm pulling for him, but sooner or later, the coach has to be pulling for him....as in pulling him off the field and sitting him on the bench. What we doing now ain't gonna work in October/November.
Learn.....improve.....move forward.

Straight talk.....1.) I am extremely grateful for the win. In saying that we have some things to work on for MEAC play. The passing by Quick needs some help in the worse way. In watching the game online I noticed that ALL of Quick's completions were of the dink and dunk variety. It seems that ALL verticle passes by Quick are always thrown way too high (or too long) for the receiver to make a play on. I mean we have some burners at WR and RB but after 3 games it looks like Quick cannot deliver so they can bust it wide open. 2.) Broadway is killing me with game management decisions. He is one of the best (or the best) in HBCU coaching ranks. However, last week he threw in the towel way too early after CCU took over the ball after we punted late in the game. Not to dwell on last week but it is no way he should have punted when we were on CCU's 40 yd line with 4 minutes to go in the game.....on 4th and 10. (If we go for it AND make it we are in field goal range or TD territory. In other words game set and match. If we are successful in that situation the team gains confidence (remember overall we are basically a young team) and we are still undefeated. By the way, I sincerely believe that if we put all the pieces together we could have gone undefeated this year.
3.) Ok now this game against Elon................We have the ball on Elon's 31 yd line w/4th and 2 and there are 3 1/2 minutes left in the game......we are leading 17-12. Broadway chooses to kick a ill-advised 48 yd. field goal which, by the way, is short and off to the right. I cannot emember when the last time we have kicked a field goal over 45 yds. Also I must add, the field goal attempt barely got off the snap because the field goal team was slow in setting up for the attempt. Broadway should have called time out to give the field goal unit time to get their hsit together. But what puzzled me most was making the attempt in the first place. If we go for 4th and 2 and make it we can basically coast from there. By missing the field goal attempt we had to sweat it out while Elon's offense was on the field in the waning moments.
4.) Despite what I mentioned......kudos to Broadway and his staff for preventing a let down from last week. Special acknowledgement to ALL-WORLD RB Tarik Cohen and "Little Deon" Tony Mcrae DB for his superb play on their best WR.

Well I've seen enough. All last year I was frustrated because we had a QB that was one demensional and had big limitstions. Everyone had hoped we had fixed that problem. Well we didn't. In fact Quick has proven to be one dimensional too. Let's face it, he cannot pass well enough to beat the best teams at this level. Aggies get ready for another frustrating 7 and 4 season. Even if we stumbled into the playoff, we don't have any chance at QB. Well let's wait until next year to find a better QB.

I am thankful for the win. Cohen and McCrae carried the team with big plays all night.
I think Broadway & Bustle realize that Quick is not getting it done in the passing game; they are just hoping the reps will make him a decent passer. If Quick does not start completing some passes I think we will eventually see a two QB system. I say this because there will be a game that we will need to complete passes to win!!

A77, Hey man, I agree our AD needs to also focus his energy on making sure more Aggies come to all the home games. However, I've been to some away games at non-HBCU institutions. We showed up big at App St. We showed up big at CCU 2 years back. We showed up big at Elon years prior. Yes, it is incumbent upon us to fill our own stadium, but it bothers me the paucity of numbers Elon brought to Aggie Stadium last year. Elon was 1-1 when we played them last year....they had not yet known how bad their team was. What I'd be curious to know is how well non-HBCU teams we play travel to other stadiums. If Elon's travel to other schools is as lame as it is to Aggie Stadium, then we all need to squash this....but if they travelled well to App St, WCU or other schools in the SoCon (and now the CAA), then something's wrong. WE ARE THEIR CLOSEST FCS OPPONENT. Elon has a very small fan base. They don't travel in large numbers anywhere. In fact only a handful of FCS PWC's travel in large numbers regardless of opponent. As for CCU they only averaged 7,000 fans per game in home attendance last season. If they don't turn out in large numbers for their own home games what makes us think they should bring a few thousand to Aggie Stadium? Okay I'm just going to be honest. ..White folks ain't never going to come to Aggie Stadium. They are not comfortable being in a "strange " environment when they are outnumbered by Black folks. You may not like to hear that but it's the truth. We don't have a problem going to their place but most of our lives we've had to operated in their environment. So let's focus on getting our fans to show up at our games.

Speaking of the QB's, I expect to see plenty of Klugh next week against Chowan.
